This news headline is an exaggeration, it was already working with the AMD Ryzen7 6800U a year ago.

cyber, 13 hours agowho uses an amd anyway?Dude, where the heck have you been?! Intel is in a mess right now.

Invetor, 12 hours agohuh? how is this even supposed to work? Android games are ... moreBut then again, you have Chromebook laptops with x86 CPU, and some run on AMD CPU. So you can tell why Google is doing this.

Android games are made for ARM architecture.
            AMD cpu is x86 architecture.

RaveTKO, 13 hours agoare you 5?I thought the same. Android is pretty much dead for gaming. All the good titles are several years old. Or there are those silly freemium titles like PUBG or fortnite.

Anonymous, 19 hours agoI thought Android already works on x86 processors. You might be thinking of BlueStacks or other third-party Android Emulators in Windows/Linux.
This one is the official one from Google. I'm not sure if it is pure software-emulation or hybrid-translation.

But x86 cannot support ARM-Native code directly. There are some calculation vectors that x86 has than can run certain native code. But the inverse is not true. ARM cannot run x86-Native code. By that, I mean the modern x86 code (think Windows7 and up). Modern ARM has grown more complex too, so a previous ARM Cortex-A57 cannot run a Cortex-X925 code properly, and I'm not talking about a difference in efficiency or performance.

Why would you play a mobile game in pc.
