14 March 2025
Both Apple and Google will work to support a new specification allowing this as soon as possible.

Since the Android guys in U.S. were facing terrible backslash for just using the phones they like, the so called green bubbles controversy, something need to be addressed over this. It's important to note that Apple only agreed with this RCS thing because they were placed against the wall by EU.

Privacy is possible, Clueless people just don't know about it.

And what app in android uses RCS? please enlight me oh you supreme tech guy!
Ah yeah the messenger or better said the sms one, ups.
As for what i've said i think was quite simple, but hey i can translate for you.
I do not know how many people on android use the messenger to comunicate with their friends but i am pretty sure that not as many people as the ones using whatsapp or telegram or signal. RCS is trying to revive an old tech but as we can all see only apple users use the messenger (or whatever it's called on IOs) to

      Get it?
      Good

potato4k, 15 Mar 2025Realme and Vivo still use their own SMS app I guess it's more region specific, since most Realme and Vivo that sold in my country comes with Google Message.

            1. My friend just bought a Realme 13 many days ago, and I'm the one who helped him set up the phone. It comes with Google Messages as the only messaging app.
            2. Just looked at the Z9X review from one of the local reviewer in my country (since I'm thinking about getting one) and idk how accurate is that but I see from the home screen from that video that it comes with Google Messages.

This is why the service provider won't be able to read the messages. Obviously, there must be a starting point before the messages are encrypted. And of course, the messages have to be decrypted at some point otherwise even the recipient won't be able to read them. Really, start reading.

Vasra, 15 Mar 2025If you use RCS , ALL your message data goes to two servers:... moreLook up end-to-end encryption.

If you use RCS , ALL your message data goes to two servers:

                            1. Google
                            2. Apple

All other RCS servers/relays have been slowly removed, including those of telcos and Samsung.

You are basically trusting that the non-quantum-proof algo of XChaCha20-Poly1305 256-bit key length (what RCS MLS uses for encryption) will not be broke now or in the future.

All the big corps are doing "Store Now, Decrypt later". They will store all your messages, integrated the metadata to all the other information about you (location, transaction, financial, genomic, personal, work, education - all via Palantir) and sell it to all state, non-state and corporate players.

                            You are the product.

The more data you give about yourself, the easier target you have become.

Cypherpunks knew this since late 80s.

The current generation has lost the meaning of it.

This protocol is useless if it can't use classical standard telekom protocols instead of the IP Mess.
