With Apple, you have to buy the pencil and case separately.
But I agree that in terms of overall system performance, the cheapest ipad still wins because Apple SoCs are always flagship grade SoCs. That's why having Dex capability using external monitor to me was Samsung's huge advantage. But for some reason they got rid of that feature in their S FE tablets. Really dumb imo

The reason people buy Tab S FE is because of the stylus support.
"Who wants a stylus?" you may ask... college kids.
The price hike is predatory against students & makes the base model iPad BETTER because it has Apple Pencil support. (Galaxy Tab A doesn't have proper Stylus support)

There is no real difference between Android 13 or 15 either. Samsung with its bottom of the barrel specs and the latest Android is still the e-waste, while Xiaomi etc with a previous Android is a powerhouse capable of running absolutely any latest app.

Also, Samsung making a mediocre alternative to its main competitor is embarassing, to say the least. Isn't that the same chipset in the Galaxy A56 as well?

I purchased a galaxy Tab A8. The reviews are glowing. It was the worst experience I had on a tablet. Maybe I got a lemon. Anyhow, I "downgraded" to a cheaper Amazon Fire Max 11 and it has been perfect.
That's capitalism. When the brands you speak of reach that status, they will also begin charging excessively.
