That's gonna be interesting to watch when it charges wirelessly in the summer at 30+°c outside temp and when it drop charging speed to 3-5w cos it's creating so much heat and you need like 2h to just charge 50-60% 🤣

TrainingAddict, 9 hours agoWith the current battery capacity, only thing that matters ... more"wireless" consumes a lot of energy that is not even used and is not as fast as the fast charging ones we have in Android. You don't need to defend Apple... they have tons of money to do that already.

But they already have a solution for that since 2 or 3 generations of Apple Watch by doing it wireless.
(older apple watches had a hidden port for that)

If that's true, then the common charger law did another fantastic thing.

The Underdog, 9 hours agoThat's all well and good but most wireless chargers pr... moreWith the current battery capacity, only thing that matters is charging speed, so you can easily charge your phone before leaving house and it will last you whole day.
Alternatively, you can still take a charger with you. For me personally, it doesn't make a difference in transport whether I have a wireless one in my backpack or a regular one. Comfort is more important, so in my case wireless wins

That's all well and good but most wireless chargers presently are tiresomely slow, apart from proprietary ones. Yes, you can buy one and have it at home but all the wireless chargers out in public places are of the slower kind. It's nice and it's convenient to have a physical port.

I've been waiting for this change for a long time Chinese have been using fast wireless charging for a long time and are masters at it. It's time for Apple to join so that other manufacturers can copy this trend.

But the EU demands manufacturers to include a USB-C port. Will they leave the port for a special european version or will they stop selling in europe?

...but no, we get ridiculous bumps because as long as ONE part of the phone is slim, we're going to just ignore the rest of it.

Never gonna happen because stupid iOS still needs to be connected via WIRED to PC or Mac for troubleshooting or DFU mode. While Android already has its own recovery mode since like what, day 1? iOS still cannot fulfill its own promised “post pc” era.

If ever this comes to fruitition, users will simply be forced to use a wireless charger. Will those become kinda affordable by then? What about data transfer? Oooh no it’ll be all in the cloud. Or from iPhone to another Apple device.

This might have a 13-200 mm continuous zoom camera. Otherwise that bump doesn't make sense

First, remove audio jack.
Now, remove all port.
after that, what, remove camera, remove battery, remove display, and eventually, remove the smartphone?

Lol, Apple is frustrate d because their Lightning connector is no longer unique. They used to enjoy having their own exclusive technology, but now everyone uses USB C. Most people who buy a phone today probably already have a USB C charger. Even if they don’t, they can easily buy a fast third party charger for much less money than Apple's chargers. This situation bothers Apple because they are used to controlling what accessories you buy and how much you pay
They likely want to eliminate USB C to return to their old ways of making you buy only Apple approved products. As always, they will sell you a phone in a plain box, just the device itself, and you will have no choice but to buy their MagSafe Supa Dupa Pro Ultra wireless charger, or whatever marketing BS they come up with, a $300 piece of plastic that does the same thing as a $20 charger. They will claim it's for a cleaner, better experience, but really it is about making money and maintaining control. They may even create a special wireless charging protocol that only works with their chargers, so you can't use anything else. They are no innovators... they are profit driven puppet masterz, and you're all dancing on their stringz
*just my opinion; remember the name*
