      slovly they reducing the legendary NOTCH.. couple more years 18 will have only two punch holes then iphone 19 will have only one punch holes as it was on android for 8- 10 years now .. and hopefully iphone 20 will have under screen everything and no notch whatsoever..

        So, they decided to go for the "camera island" design on the 17 series, which is a great idea to provide more stability when laid down on a flat surface - great!
        Except on the vanilla 17, for some reason.
        I thought Apple loved to have a continuous look/feel/design across their products? Why make such a strange exception? Unless they want to single out their customers who don't go for a "premium" option?

            These are seriously ugly designs, with the possible exception of the regular 17 which looks like the current 16. I thought the 'stove' camera array was a low point, but these are even worse!

                if its not functional , than just design with extra grams to the device weight

                  The measurements are engraved at the bottom of the front side.
                  The difference in thickness between the Air and regular does not seem much.
                  6.65 vs 7.96mm as I read it it, so roughly 5:6
                  And the pro (and "pormax"?) 8.75mm that is 11:10

                                I run 6.1 on my Fold 5 and if I have to compare that to iOS, then the answer is no it does not look like iOS.

                                But I have a S25 work phone with OneUI 7 and that looks a lot like iOS on many regards (I am the only one in my household with a Android phone)

                                However still not as bad as MIUI, that one copies iOS a lot.

Would be fine if they implemented those things well, but lately Apples new features were all mediocre implementations at best.

                                    From what I remember, the size of the non-Max Pro was increased to accomodate the periscope telephoto. The vanilla 17 without that has no business being as big as the 17 Pro imo.

                                      It's been a few months... and I'm still in the search of WHO ASKED FOR THIS?! No one asked for a extra slim phone, no one asked for a massive camera bump... all we want is more battery and that's it. If you have an iPhone 13... heck, even an iPhone 12, there's NO need to switch your phone and don't do it.

                                        Getting uglier year by year. But that's ok for fans. They just buy to show off that they have the latest version.
