Anonymous, 20 Mar 2025Are you really trying to portrait that as a negative...He's saying it's a reminder that removable batteries and headphone jacks can be waterproofed no problem. We've known this since the Galaxy S5, yet some people still pretend it isn't a solved problem.

It might be making a comeback.

      tab S2 from 2014 was the last.

      yeah yeah i know the target market (consumer vs industrial use) is different, but i want a premium 8 inch tablet , samsung. no i will never buy a foldable.

        The entire performance difference between 7s Gen 3, 7 Gen 3 and 6 Gen 4 is a measly ≈7%

        The CPU cores and GPU are identical between them with minor clock speed variantion and the upper hand (if you wanna call it that) is the instruction set architecture for 7 is ARMv9.2-A vs v9.0-A on 6 Gen 4, matter of fact 7 Gen 3 (vanilla) uses cortex A715 and 510 instead of A720 and A520 found in 6 Gen 4 and 7s Gen 3.

        There is an Antutu Bench score difference of about 180k between bottom and top but you just cannot get any meaningful performance differences out of these. Absolute confusion fest for everyone.

        This means they have 3 different names for essentially the same SoC.

        Part of me is convinced that even phone makers can't make a clean decision based on these names since corporate people hardly know or even care about tech.

Looks like the Xcover7 Pro was rumored in January to use the 7s Gen3 too, unfortunately. I was looking forward to it and mostly hoping for 8GB RAM, but things are looking grim with the Active5 Pro now leaking at 6GB. I'll believe in a higher trim when I see it.

It has serio... moreNo wonder that Sony has been refusing to implement a 7-series chipset on their midranger and want to keep using 6-series on their Xperia 10 series since 2019, when Qualcomm's Snapdragon moniker and the naming scheme are a damn mess and inconsistent like this, despite some people on certain social media said Sony Xperia naming is confusing than Snapdragon, at least Sony naming is already consistent since 2019, while Qualcomm is definitely not. 7s Gen 3 should be named 6 Gen 4 from the beginning, not the two derivatives.

It has seriously low memory bandwidth but the naming convention downplays how bad that SoC is and it is everywhere, even in phones that cost upper-mod range territory like the garbage made by 'NOTHING'

                                One would understandably assume that 7s through 7+ Gen 3 would be a reasonable variantion in maybe a bit of clock speeds and other minor stuff but 7+ Gen 3 is in a class of its own and is closee to 8s Gen 3 than it is with the middle guy 7 Gen 3 in performance.

                                Very few 7+ Gen 3 phones and Tabs exist and it is such a scam. It feels like Qualcomm made a real happy mistake, brands recognised how good the SoC is and collectively decided not to use it.

                                7s Gen 3 has lower memory bandwidth than SD855 from 2018, you can't tell me that's not a scam.

                                Long story short, 7s Gen 3 is as bad as 7+ Gen 3 is good.

                                  I can't believe that 7 Gen 3 and 7s Gen 3 become Qualcomm Snapdragon's most controversial chip to date in this community, more than 7 Gen 1 ever did for a midranger chip choice. Now what happened?

                                    Active series meant something back when the Galaxy S series was equipped with it

                                    Since it got separated from S series Samsung is basically telling us to go buy Chinese rugged phones literally to enjoy high end specs

                                    Shame on you Samsung honestly

                                      Pro, Max, Power, Ultra... Blah blah blah...

                                      Words don't mean anything anymore.

                                      Freaking 7s Gen 3 and 6GB is pro 😒
