Google is bringing a fully custom ISP for the first time in its Tensor era.

I still want Google to allow Pixel users to hide or at least resize/minimize the search bar.

This should be a standard feature, not requiring installing a custom launcher or doing other tweaks.

    This is gonna be awesome. For the first time in 6 years they're gonna release an appealing Pixel phone. The fourth gen Pixels used flagship TSMC chips. The fifth gen Pixels used terrible mid range 700 series Qualcomm chips. And every single Pixel starting with the 6 has used terrible TERRIBLE Samsung chips.

              AntonelPAPI, 19 Mar 2025Yes, but they shouldn't charge as if they had the best... moreI understand that, but considering they want to follow Apple footstep on making everything themselves, both hardware and software, just like the smartphone chip, probably next ist GPU, and now the modem chip of C1, I think going back to Snapdragon is purely a dream for Google Pixel as Google already dig way to deep and heavy on investing their Tensor chipsets unless something big happened.

But just as I already highlighted, raw performance, crunching benchmark performance to overtake Snapdragons or MediaTek, let alone Apple A series, will never be the one that Google gonna be chasing for based on 9 generations of Pixel and that won't even change for the Pixel 10 at all. They aren't Poco or Infinix/Tecno where performance is everything and No.1 over everything else. And the pricing, yeah, they should tweaked it, but considering they want to do Apple's journey on making smartphone and how quiet is US market smartphone, with Google able to dominate there with Japan, Sony's home market, I don't think that will be the case for now.

                      now they are going back to using Imagination Tech GPU's sky these people do not learn a GPU has incompatibility in Apps and Game Emulation.

                              Performance, throttling and efficiency all matter. It's obvious Google only cares about the efficiency of a chip. Now that they secured TSMC as a fab, they should start looking into the other 2.

                                  Ever since switching to Tensor chips, Google has not used a fully custom ISP in its Pixel phones - actually since Pixel 4 and while Pixel 5 Snapdragon does not contain any ISP core they still able to do practically as good or better picture according to previous reviews.

I had several Pixels with Snapdragon and even though they understood the chip, it was still a thousand times better than all the Tensors they came out with! Snapdragon should always have been the way to go and not that garbage they were offering.
