Last year I changed my phone again with another Redmi note pro, been doing that for the last 5 years. But this year that won't happen again, already looking for a battery replacement after 7 months.

good for Xiaomi. Now when Samsung removed the SD card from A56 and basically froze the RAM amount to low-end value for 2025, Xiaomi/Poco sales will definitely increase.

So is the profit margin about 10x. Because of selling high end devices only. And they got most of the buyers from North America.

I didn't say the profit is higher/more than the revenue but the increase in profit is higher than the increase in revenue. Maybe i worded it badly but you get the point. Let's look at operating profit before we get too... morewhen the majority of your sales come from extreme discounts and offers, ofc the profit would not be great, as the msrp suggests. However it's still surprising to me that Samsung still doesn't have Apple like profits despite selling at a huge price at the start of the year. Leads me to believe some corruption/poor management is at play.

Their profit margin seems to be increasing so they seem to be moving to a higher profit model from their earlier days. This makes sense as they are selling more expensive phones which have higher profit margin. The net profit margin based on the adjusted net profit would be 7.43% which is pretty decent. It's likely the net profit margin in the smartphone business is higher than this though as this is for the whole company and it takes into account the cars which would have a negative net profit margin

The investment in R&D is really not very high relative relative to tech firms like Huawei. CNY 24.1 billion ($3.3 billion) represents only 6.5% of revenue. In Huawei's latest annual report they spend CNY164.7 billion which equates to 23.4% of revenue. It they want to become a more innovative brand that introduces their own tech rather than just buying it from others I think they need to increase the focus on R&D. That is the logical next step. I'm interested to see how their own processor performs on the Xiaomi 15s pro as it's their first processor since they seemed to suspend the project for many years after their initial surge chips. I think the 15s pro will be their most interesting phone for a long time
