whether the bezel is big or not, it still has a 5" triluminous display. I know you will compare it with amoled displays/iPhone's retina display, but it doesn't matter. All types of screen displays has its advantages and disadvantages, nothing is perfect! All I can say is this phone looks fantastic and elegant. By just looking at the high resolution rendered images, you can feel that the phone is made of premium quality materials. If the camera is excellent then this will be a top notch phone!

Aesthetically I would love a thinner bezel, they look great! But practicality plays a part in a slightly thicker bezel... My hands are quite large and wrap around 4-5" phones quite easily, and thin bezeled phones are hard to hold any other way than flat in my palm. Waking the phone all the time, or accidentally scrolling down when web browsing, sending the wrong commands in a game, etc. just because my fingers were touching the edges slightly. I am forever changing from landscape, to portrait, and angles in-between with my phone or tablet. Thinner bezel also means that the screen is closer to the edge... Which looks awesome and futuristic (oh, i'm just holding a screen). And guaranteed that unless the "thin bezel" device has futuristic glass, it's gonna crack if you drop it on its edge. I would love "no bezel" devices, but the protection technologies just are not there yet. Plus I can't really compare these new Xperia Z series to any other brand right now, simply because of the extra protection you get with the dust and water resistance.

With so much space on the bottom, why don't they put some physical buttons on the phone? Permanent on-screen navigation is so damn stupid. But how can I not buy this phone as soon as it's released?? So amazing. Staying up all night to watch the IFA event. Love Sony so much.

With slim bezel means the dimension of the phone will be smaller n narrower n it'll fit the pocket. Better you compare to S4, G2, Moto X, Note 3's bezel. It's not a matter of using it horizontally or vertically, it's a matter how the handset fits the hand grip n pocket. Sigh.

Weak design
Camera lens way too close to the corner you can easily accidentally cover it with your fingers
Top and bottom bezels are a waste of space, you don't need that much to hold it on landscape mode (this is NOT a heavy tablet for crying out loud) and it's really just useless overall unless that space holding the speakers or some extra buttons

I was going to buy this phone no questions asked but my xperia z back glass came off due to their overheating fault. So I sent it to get repaired and instead they smash my screen ans then say I did it!
