We also get a drawing of the phone's design.

True innovation should focus on making sensors better, not just bigger. It's about increasing sensitivity and dynamic range without increasing physical size. It's about computational photography that enhances images without requiring a brick-sized sensor hump.
That's the real challenge, not simply increasing size.

It is my personal opinion, and a valid one. Innovation shouldn't sacrifice usability, creating bulky, awkward devices, the opposite of what a 'pocket computer' should be. I understand this is early tech, and improvements in miniaturization will come.

Manufacturers should prioritize other aspects like ergonomics, battery life, and overall efficiency.

These devices are photography-focused and require a specific kind of sensor that takes up quite a bit of space... just like that Find X8 Ultra you have in your avatar image.

Please, try to contribute with your comments. If you're going to type a childish opinion based on your personal tastes, look for another article on another blog.

So "innovation" for vivo (and some other) means sacrificing ergonomics and usability for a zoom lens that 99% of users will use twice, just to show this gimmick off.

Instead of chasing useless megapixel and big sensor that nobody asked for, how about focusing on a phone that's actually comfortable to hold and use, with good battery life, while having have long software support? We're not all creepy stalkers who need to see pores from across the street.

This is just prioritizing gimmicks over the actual user experience as a whole.

The fourth picture is actually showing two ZTE prototypes using the IMX989 as the primary shooter. You can see the massive difference between 24mm (which for the IMX989 would require at least a 9mm lens) and 35mm (IMX989 in that case requires a 13,25mm lens).

If the mobile is top-heavy, the wrist hurts a lot when used in prolonged use. It seems like this is going to be the case with this one as well.

Looks like a cap to hide the actual design of the camera bump, or perhaps an accessory for the main camera to go from 24 to 35mm? I doubt the final version will be released with such a thick camera island.

Phone thickness 9mm. Camera bump thickness another 9mm. Total thickness 18mm. Lol.
At this thickness, one can actually give something like Samsung K Zoom.

Oh, thank God, the camera tumor is finally thicker than a phone, so now we can kill someone with it if they think this is ugly.

I'm going to buy two, so I can put them on my ears and look like Princess Leia.

The ultra phones from Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are actually basically worse to use than the standard versions of flagships in terms of inhand feel and daily use. They are more inconvenient to use for things like games (as the camera kind of affects the holding of the phone). However, that's a sacrifice you have to pay if you want the best cameras available on phones.
