Kapitan X, 24 Mar 2025What 3 4 years. I am that rare man. I have Lumia 640, Lumia... moreThey were great phone. Great os.
But no apps and arrived too late.
3 is a list for some competition. When compete with only two like nowadays apple and Android, it's no completion.
Also update, the less I have, the better I live. Don't understand all those eager for updates. Never make anysense to me.

Anonymous, 24 Mar 2025they are not commited to provide 6 years of updates.
they ... moreWhy you all do care so much about updates.
.first thing I do with new phone, disable all kind of update, in dev mode too, adb
Those sneaky brands now require more and more root to block updates.
No one realise it's a trojan, they all buy new features improvement security optimization whereas it's the opposite giving you gadgets UI for babies to trick you all
I know I'm on the fringe. Software engineer for me at year. I just don't understand. Really.

Anonymous, 24 Mar 20251080p in that large of a screen has to look bad right? It's not that bad, but yeah many 1080p phones are much sharper than this. This averages at a pixel density of 385 ppi. (pixel per inch)

they are not commited to provide 6 years of updates.
they also make a lots of phones with same hardware, only minor changes (design/build/camera) with price differences.
look at A-M-F series phones from past years. including 1X-2X-3X-5X series.

Mr.E30, 24 Mar 2025Yes I agree with you. It's like almost everyone is usi... moreWhat 3 4 years. I am that rare man. I have Lumia 640, Lumia 640 XL and Lumia 635 for 10 years, Oppo A9 2020 5 years and I am happy. They still work good without security updates and os updates :).

Mr.E30, 24 Mar 2025Yes I agree with you. It's like almost everyone is usi... moreNow add the issue of cut down storage sizes and they expect to cram 7 years of updates in them.

The only good thing about this is the 6 years of software support, which will likely be ridiculously slow, but even if it won't be, really wouldn't want to be stuck with this device for 6 years.

Anonymous, 23 Mar 2025That chin so bad, Samsung too focused on software. I think ... moreYes I agree with you. It's like almost everyone is using phone max 2 to 3 years with budget phones, and midrange 3-4 years, same is with flagship 4 years and rare people are going over 4 years. So os updates 3-4 years is okay cos you're good a year or two after that with security. Even after that 3-4 years you can still use it another 4-5 years more until they cancel apps on that android version where your phone stuck but it will work fine cos its not gonna struggle with low end specs and newre heavier ui. To me those 7 years (are good don't get me wrong but with high end phones with max specs that can handle it) is unrealistic with midrange chip and specs, esp with budget phones that's struggling with current os and ui after 6 months of usage.

The IP rating and 1380 SoC put this on my recommend list easily for those looking for a Samsung phone on a budget. I'm glad that Samsung continues the trickling down of their SoC to the lower models.
Hopefully next year, we see 1380 on the A17. It's time to move on from ancient A76 cores.

I guess this will go for 3.8 rating range
For gorilla vicuts plus in front and back , ip67 ,a35 chip (global version ) ,6 android updates and circle to search...
but 3.5 mm jack and stereo speakers are really a drawback tbh

That chin so bad, Samsung too focused on software. I think if they provide 3-4 years of update but improved hardware it is great balance between software and hardware
