Another leak confirms the Snapdragon 8s Elite won't have Oryon cores

Basically this is a slightly cheaper option than the snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for lower cost performance oriented phones. Redmi, Realme and Iqoo will all use it in their cheaper performance phones as it will be slightly cheaper than the snapdragon 8 Gen 3 coz they make some cuts e.g.in the Cache. It will be used by brands in lower end models than they use the 8 Gen 3 so would expect it to be slightly behind the 8 Gen 3 like the 8s gen 2 was with the 8 Gen 2

      I hoped (but knew I'd be wrong) the 8s elite would be a chip with 6 or 7 oryon cores. Would've made sense considering the name and they would've saved money more efficiently

        What a dumb naming scheme, unbelievable

          Slightly underclocked (and very likely poorly binned) 8 Gen 3. It's possible that the GPU is also just a underclocked Adreno 750.

          And yes, it should be called 8s Gen 4.

            Think underclocked CPU paired with newer GPU.

            Only time will tell tho, Adreno 825 vs 750 doesn't make any sense if its weaker.

            Moreover, 8 Gen 3 had Adreno 740 vs 8s Gen 3 with Adreno 735

            8 Gen 2 has about 11% better GPU but 8s Gen 3 has about the same CPU single core and 5% better multicore performance with 28% better compute score on GPU.

            Shot is the dark but I'd say Qualcomm is playing to their strength with this one and beefing up the GPU in 8s Elite.

                      The only way this is gonna be better than the 8400 is due to the use of one Cortex X4 core. Other than that, the 8400 is going to crush this chip in efficiency.

                                  For reference, the 8 gen 3 is
                                  1x 3.3 GHz – Cortex-X4
                                  3x 3.15 GHz – Cortex-A720
                                  2x 2.96 GHz – Cortex-A720
                                  2x 2.27 GHz – Cortex-A520

                                    I think people underestimate adreno 800 series, for me it's better upgrade than even Oryon cores, we saw A720 Is more efficient than phoenix M, so having Arm core it's not end of the world, but having adreno 825 is better,

                                      I won't be surprised if the Nothing Phone (3) uses this.
