This recreates a test that Oppo did to promote the Find N5, but under much tougher conditions.

No one cares if the hinge breaks at 100lb

What a phone! I was literally biting my nails, expecting to hear some kind of a snap. Good thing I was disappointed 🤣🤣 Good job, Oppo 👍💯

Can you compare with Samsung Z fold?

Foldables are not breaking from force to the exterior so this test doesn't mean anything. Neither does the fold threshold they always brag about. The problems happen inside. I believe it is due to heat. At least that is the case for the Z.

What also makes this interesting is most manufacturers will reject your repair if there is damage to the exterior. Something as small as a scratch is enough for them turn down a repair under the warranty.

Nice demonstration, but i see to case to bend a foldable backward that hard. Most of the hinge problems are after 6-24 months, just before some dead pixels start to occur or the protection peels off on the hinge area

The torque on hinge will increase if there was more gao in wooden planks.

Overengineered, even with the 3D printed parts its a huge win-win for everyone!

                          nice

It's a shame that Oppo decided to not release it in Europe; to give Samsung some competition, (as based on several reviews) it is a pretty good folding phone.

Shouldve done a '100kg man jumping onto the couch where the phone is placed and landing right in the middle of the hinge' test. Then it would be perfect for usa.

While this is truly impressive, it's not how phones break during real world usage anyways.
