Anonymous, 25 Mar 2025The problem is that we still can't pack enough compute... moreNo I get why they need cables. I am just saying with cables they might not sell well.
I guess this is kind of like a catch 22 situation. It cannot feature content properly without cables, but with cables they might not sell well .

That's cool and all... but do these kinds of headsets really heve any real world practicallity?
I really feel like with the amount of money you spend on these headsets, for both apple and the upcoming Samsung whatever - you can get like 5 monitors to pretty much have the same experience if you place them all in one place and attach some to walls or supports :/

So right now, unless all you want to do is watch content, the best option is still to use a cable.

Possibly also a first attempt to diminish the usefulness of the Galaxy Note that would launch a year later. He was quite obsessed with trying to spread disinformation. Like, calling the Galaxy Note a Hummer sized phone no one would buy. History obviously proved him wrong on both accounts, as Apple adopted both pens and Hummer sized phones, because they both made sense for ergonomics, expanding complexity of smart features and the obvious raising the roof of the high end price point.

$2,500? No thank you! I will have the Xreal One Pro instead. Not only it is $1900 cheaper. It allows me to use any device with type C port.

Steve jobs is said to have said about smartphones "If you see a stylus, they blew it". He was referring to phones that only work with a stylus.
I think something similar can be said about AR smartglasses with wires "If you see a wire, they blew it".
The above was just my personal opinion and i could be wrong but I have a strong feeling that headsets or glasses with wires (connecting to phone or computing unit or whatever ) won't sell that well and/or will only be a minor selling stop gap for full VR headsets and AR headsets.

Yes!
Glad the push to really push this platform as there is some seriously incredible VR gaming headsets that are smaller better resolution and so much more emersion than Meta and other more commonly known products already for sale.
The real key for AR glasses isn't being tethered to a battery pack to act as a separate unit and poor latency. It's in direct connection using USB-C 3.2 OR 4.3 / TB5 to a smartphone like the Galaxy S/Z lineup but more critically
Natural gestures for manipulation,
Voice and signing for data entry so that they are fully manipulative m interactive and NOT just viewing or consuming media.
