Samsung's back designs are too boring these days. Xiaomi, Oppo and Vivo's back designs are too big and showy.
Motorola's designs are neither boring nor too showy. This is my rationale as to why I believe Motorola has really nailed down the design these past few years, and in my opinion, has one of the best looking designs. I hope they keep it like this, with minimal changes.

I mean, yeah it does slightly mask content on the edges, but it's something that I notice once and then my brain quickly learns to forget about it. Of course, this is just my personal experience, perhaps others are more sensitive to it.
As to the hydrogel protectors, I am sure glass protectors also exist, you just need to search for the ones that use UV glue.
So in summary, one problem is very subjective, while the other problem can be remedied with glass protectors of the UV glue variety.

Horrible ugly colours yet again, every year because of this Pantone collaboration. Also Matte rough glass backs looks like plastic, not premium at all.

I'm limited to hydrogel protectors as well. Writing with a stylus is a pain as the usable area is also reduced. I've experienced it first hand with the LG Velvet. You don't write on a paper that slides on the sides, right?
As to why I bought it, the positives (dual screen, jack , sd card slot, wacom stylus etc) outweigh the dumb edge glass at that time.

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 25 Mar 2025Wait what? Isn't Vivo owned by BBK and therefore are u... moreYes, BBK owns Vivo, despite the de-registration. However, their UI is completely different from Oppo/OnePlus/Realme's rebranded ColourOS. Earlier Vivo phones had the same UI as Oppo until 2017, which is simply a namesake.
Also, Motorola's UI is far off from Pixel's UI beyond the icons and pre-installed Google apps. HMD/Nokia is the only brand that uses a UI like Pixels, with Sharp's iteration being its aesthetics-focused alternative. If you have tried to experience these phones despite not owning them, you'll understand my comparison.
Motorola had used AOSP until Android 11, during the Android One program, which they replaced with the Hello UI, alongside an intermediate Android 12 UI without the "Android One" branding, which the Hello UI developed by the FunTouch team was used to steer away from Google's poor optimizations and weak/non-uniform customization options.

Anonymous, 25 Mar 2025Why do people hate curved edges so anyways? i think they lo... more1- It's hard to install a *real* tempered glass screen protector. (I don't mean the useless "film" screen protectors)
2- There's a bit of discoloration lines when tilting the device sideways
3- Clear cases for side curved phones tend to not be very protective, no matter how big the extra lib is. The corners are exposed.
4- Top/Bottom screen bezels are less symmetrical because the side bezels are super thin in comparison. No Uniformity whatsoever.
The curves on Huawei Pura 70 Ultra is a good example of what a *perfect* quad cores should look like. If you put a clear case on Huawei Pura 70 Ultra it will look truly futuristic bezel-less. (Look at the online reviews for the clear Pura 70 Ultra cases & you'll know what I mean)

Minu, 25 Mar 2025That's the whole point of this series. It's inten... moreWait what? Isn't Vivo owned by BBK and therefore are using a the same but a reskinned Oppo / Realme / OnePlus / IQOO UI ? (BBK UI, but "vivo flavored")
To me, Lenovo's Hello UI is stock-like. It feels completely different than Funtouch / OriginOS. Hello UI is much closer to the Google Pixel than Vivo. Both Lenovo/Asus choose to not bloat Android because in their past they're used to not bloating Windows on their laptops. This also makes Lenovo/Asus less prone to spyware accusations than BBK, Xiaomi, Huawei, Honor, etc... They're just selling you the bare bone hardware, they are not interested in the after-sale software subscriptions / stores / Ads & all that nonsense.
But I agree, there might be an audience for dual curves. (Me, i can never use them 😅)

Confused between OnePlus Nord 4 and this. One Plus Nord CE 5 will get snapdragon 7 Gen 4?
Qualcomm please release snapdragon 7 Gen 4 already. iQOO Z10 Pro will have it with 7500 battery and I may use it.
Anything on Nothing Phone 3?

YourLocalPhoneCritic, 25 Mar 2025Motorola has to stop it with the curved sides. If you'... moreThat's the whole point of this series. It's intended to be dual-curved. Otherwise, it would be the G or Edge Neo series instead. Or unsurprisingly would be Vivo devices, all thanks to using the same ODM.
Motorola fans can consider Vivo instead for 2.5D or flat displays because their FunTouch UI and Lenovo's Hello UI are the same (same development team and aesthetics), but Lenovo insists on using Google Apps instead of Vivo's.
