Zendroid, 02 Apr 2025The bed, the wall, gloves, jacket, work, nature, wildlife. ... moreOr, you know, you can slap on cheap replaceable bumper. Yeah, it makes non-classic almost as big as classic, but it is still lighter and you can replace it once it shows wear. I have seen how classic gets on the wrist of my fellow grease monkeys, while I laugh refreshing a bumper that I can also remove for formal events...

Claudespeed, 02 Apr 2025Do you have sharp objects in your bed when sleeping?? Else ... moreThe bed, the wall, gloves, jacket, work, nature, wildlife. There's a lot of protection gone without the bezel ring. That's why classic is the only choice for the active ones.

My watch 6 classic runs fine. Unless watch 8 classic is a big upgrade will keep my watch. Only downside is short battery life.

Samsung already has solid state batteries for their wearables that will be introduced in a year or two. Battery innovation doesn't happen overnight. No point in wasting time, money and resources on silicon carbon.
Besides, the Galaxy watches are okay. The biggest advantage is LTE and the trade-in options if you already have one. If you need a better battery or accurate health metrics, OnePlus and Garmin will connect just fine to a Samsung device.

Anonymous, 02 Apr 2025Spoiler alert: Wear OS is Tizen with Google Play support. W... moreBut, When I compare My Galaxy Watch 6 Classic and Galaxy Watch 3, I see Watch 3 is better in every way. It tracks sleep and every other health app. Its battery is better so I call it bettery. Galaxy Watch 3 can handle animated watch faces with upto 250 megabytes without any glitch but Watch 6 cannot even handle 10 megabytes. Maybe all of these were caused by Play Store. Just like Facebook eats up the most battery on phones.

Call me weird, but any watch that can't do 2 full days minimum while having continuous monitoring enabled should not be acceptable.
I hope they have a Watch8 Pro model, otherwise I'll have to wait another generation (or more) before I can replace my Watch5 Pro (which still works great by the way, just got relatives using AliExpress-quality watches, it will be gifted to one of them).

Sure, but it is not the same type of product... WearOS offers much more flexibility and functions that you can't do with your garmin. Not comparable

Silicon-carbon batteries sounds like the way to go for these relatively small devices currently.... Maybe they would be able to get them down to an actual wearable thickness? It might even end the size of a proper watch....

We have been reading about its supposedly better battery life since the Watch4 was announced, and yet not a single model managed to do it (in the same size) compared to Tizen smartwatches. I get it, they have to say it for marketing reasons, but at this point all these reporters saying it are either lying, ignorant or paid by Samsung :D

Pretty pathetic improvement if you want to call that. We are up to the 8th iteration and you still get 1-1.5 days of usage. The recent solid state article means probably the Watch 10/11 might be the one to get lol. Don't they realise they would get far more purchases if they could get Garmin levels of battery life?
