No seriously, I spent that on some TWS thinking it would at least be decent for 2-3 years. Just after the return period the charging contacts decided their sole purpose was too difficult and that was it. Supposed to be a reputable brand too and yet no seller communication and no availability of parts so it's gone.

Never again. I tolerate my QC45s over wireless (the 2.5mm port's already dead) because of the incredible ANC, but they still lose the connection occasionally and apps for everything just needs to stop. Currently debating between waiting for anyone to bring put ANC planars to exclusively use wired or just get a QC25 and a pack of LADDAs (but of course the same 2.5mm problem).

      Not everything is about future vs old. Some things were just made too good. Over 3 decades of Bluetooth audio and still can even compete.

          In next 5 years or so it will be electronic money for sake of environment. Plans been made and slowly this goes into this step. EU government put this idea many years ago onto the table and last 2 years there been more and more talk to swap paper money and coins for electronic cash.           Comparing jack and car is irelevant because cars still have and still can evolve to somewhere. Even their fuel can change to something else. We started with petrol then diesel, then electric. Nowdays diesel is less and less used and electric is more and more.
          We will go to hydrogen fuel soon on more than just few luxura cars just to show of. Jack been here since 1867 and from them it evolved few times last evolution been 20 years ago since then nothing changed on jack and it will never happen because jack reached its peak of evolution and there is absolutely nothing to make this technology even a tiny inch better.

Laptops come with bluetooth too so you do not need to spend one USB port. Guess what? They all come with a headphone jack too! Even the little Mac mini has one!

            And now you say “what you need it for?” Maybe you need to decide if you need it or not before talking nonsense. The point about expandable storage is that you are not locked in by the manufacturer. Also, the cost of going for a higher storage model is insane and you can still get stuck if you somehow fill up that storage. SD cards are not expensive, so you can buy multiple as you need and you get to keep it with you! And your data is safe in case your phone gets damaged and needs to be wiped for repair.

            About ancient technology: I’m sure cars are older than headphone jacks, so I’m guessing you don’t use a car either and you protest on the streets for them to be banned. Even if the headphone jack Is ancient according to you, it is still better than wireless audio and I am not asking for wireless audio to be banned. I use both. That’s the difference between you and me. You want what you don’t like to not exist. That’s demonic, not humane. And I am not preventing a wireless future from happening just because I use a headphone jack, otherwise no company would have removed it if they cared about me.

            Yes, older people struggled to get used to smartphones, but feature phones are still available in case somebody needs those. Online payments have become common too, but no one has banned cash! People can still use cash and they do use cash when they want to. Last time I checked, governments are still printing that paper.

              Its up to others what they make. Portless or not, jackless or not i honestly dont care. I just follow the present to be modern in future not relying on past.
              Many tech from the past were good are still reliable now but modern and future like aproach will send those relics to the history books soon or later.
              just like the SD slots in flagships or 3,5mm jack or the ports of any kind in cell phones.

              Future is in chinese and is very bright. New BV100 is the future.

              By the way today found a slovak article where been said the BV100 developed to stadium where it can be changed and shaped to various sizes in other words will be able to power even greater devices like smartphones, tablets remote controllers etc.
              Company like Xiaomi managed to make and sells EV cars within 2 years. I am believing with huge support from chinese government this could be tech used litterary everywhere withing next 2-5 years.

It blatantly says that they decided against it, and this decision was probably last year, long before the EU made their clarification that this would have been permitted under the single charger rule.

                It wouldn't make much sense for the 17 Air to be portless anyway, 5.8mm isn't even that thin when Vivo put a 3.5mm port and an SD card in 5.1mm 11 years ago and Apple's own iPad Pro is 5.2mm with a laptop CPU Thunderbolt.

                  Can’t wait for the Xperia 10 VII. It’s supposed to finally have a 120hz OLED display. That was the only thing holding me back from upgrading my 13 Mini last year.

So my phone already does everything that this extremely modern future portless phone of yours will do. Apparently you're waiting on a future that I've been living in for years. 🤷‍♂

                              Like i said when apple started jremoving jack all others followed it. When they start to add notch all others followed it so if apple start making dwevices without any port all others will follow.
                              So no jack no audio via USB C only bluetooth or wireless via wifi or so option will remain.
                              In said topic this future will start from Iphone 17 series so this year and in next year rest of the companies will follows.
                              So keep your jack while you have a device which suppors it.
                              I dont care and i dont mind.
