PepperPot, 04 Apr 2025For full context, Samsung never drops the MSRP on foldables... moreOf course they drop prices.... when it's a new/lower category/class model.
It's an FE, not a full-fat Flip 7, so expect it to be at least a $100 discount, especially when it will lack the camera update that was the main drawback (besides lack of Dex/DP) dating back to the Flip 3.
If the Flip 7 FE's launch MSRP isn't at least a $150 less than the Flip 6's launch MSRP then it will be a colossal error in marketing/pricing, and if it isn't also $50 below the street price / BB price of a NEW IN BOX Flip 6 it will be unattractive to anyone since the Flip 6 will beat it in pretty much every way.
Flip 7FE gives them a market for the flip-curious to build the user-base, while allowing them to keep the full-fat Flip 7 a truly premium device (which it looks to not be if Exynos is even in the cards/conversation).
If they can get people to buy a cheap Flip 7FE then hopefully they can make the Flip 8 a true premium device, and not just a novelty with weak cameras (no 8K no supersteady despite same sensor as s25, weak selfie [despite option for cover selfie]), no dex/DP, no LPTO cover screen, no UWB, no Wifi7, etc... at a very premium price.
I'd pay $100-200 more for a full Flip 7 with S25U/Edge camera and other features instead of barely S25 features as what's currently expected just like F6.

Amzn and BB may drop prices, but those drops will be modest. Far from a rock. Any deep discounts you've seen are from small business or individuals posting to ebay or a similar site. Whether they charge $1 or $10k is their decision. Samsung already made their money off those units.

Z Flip 6 brand new would be cheaper and better.

Unless this phone is 750e or less, it's gonna be awful value when usually, whitin half a year, the Flip phones drop to around that price brand new.

Zero, 03 Apr 2025Bad news... the standard Razr just uses the Dimensity 7400,... moreDimensity 7400 is barely on par with the Exynos 1480, it gets destroyed even with the Exynos 1580, let alone the 2400e

yalim, 03 Apr 2025why is this a good thing for a person who buys a phone unle... moreBecause the way things were, the screen and battery came together as a package. If you needed a new screen, you automatically got a new battery. With this set up, you can replace either one separately.
I'm not sure this was done as a benefit to the consumer. People complain about the battery all the time, but no one actually knows if third party apps accurately measure battery health and Samsung does not recognize those apps as legit. Also, most people do not replace the battery on their foldable. My guess? It cuts costs for Samsung.

I doubt it will be THAT cheap. The regular Flip goes for $1000. The Flip FE would probably go for $900. Anything less would be overlapping with the regular Galaxy S model.

Standard Razr 60 will be every way better and probs even cost cheaper too. Low expectations from Samsung on this.
