There is really no point in the battery change after 4-5 years of use of the phone. Even low end Redmi now get you 3 OS updates so you can buy a new phone after 4 years of use and still have spend less money then get one expensive phone that needs more money spend on it for battery change when the phone value have dropped to a point where the battery change cost more then the phone it's self.
Social media and for some easy game like candy crush you dont need that 3 million points SnapDragon 8 Elite when you will never use more then 5-10% of the phone performance.
200-300 phones already are like Antutu v10 600k to 1.6M scores.
Pixel phones have it around 1.2-1.3M score for performance as minimum 600 euro and i see it crazy over priced. Makes no sense what so ever to spend so much for that type of performance. For just stock android that have nothing unique to brand and just long term OS updates that in the end of the day can mess up your phone with the last update or so like we have seen it dont by Apple and other brands in the past where they make the phone slower or drain the battery to send you a signal to go buy new phone from us as it's long over the time to do so.
With these 200-300 euro phones also last you for 5 to 10 years and also probably need a battery change but when OS updates are important for you then you can change your phone after 4 years to get another 4 years of updates. And still pay less money then get one time expensive phone to last you that 8 years.
Poco X7 Pro have more performance then all Pixel 9 series and probably also upcoming 10 series. For 300 euro only and get to play with it for 4 years and then get another one that get you upgrade on performance and every part of the phone

As for performance degradation, it depends on the phone itself. It will also depend how good a manufacturer is at making of the system. My S10e is still providing performance comparable enough to an upper budget phone. And it is 6 years old at this point.

Itll be smo... morePoco X7 Pro you get for 300 euro and it gets you 3 OS updates as 1-2 OS update less then Pixel 9 series that come out with Android 14 where they already rip you off with one update as Pixel 8 series also come out with A14
X7 Pro will also last you 8 years or more and also need battery change probably around same time as the Pixel series needs. Has way more performance then Pixel series have so will be smoother in the end days. When updates matter for you then you can buy a new phone after 4 years and still would have spend less on the 2 phones then you pay for one that also needs a battery change

I dont want to buy cheap redmis every 2 years. I use pixel for 8 years. Im not a kid so i dont play pubg like you either.

What kind of argument that is even ?
If you have money to buy a phone that cost 600 plus euro then you dont have the problem to buy a new phone when battery give up in after 3 years or so use of the phone.
Never mind that phone carriers now days have also insurance offers so when something happen to your phone they replace it or fix it.
There is also wear and tear on the hardware after 5 years of use as the phone loses performance with that plus all these 5 OS updates that make the phone slower cause the updates use more resource and are not well optimized on old models and old hardware
My last phone last me for 5 years and i changed to new one cause it was old and slow as heck. Battery still ok after being shelved for 2 years. And it was low budget phone.
When you buy a Pixel for 600 euro or more then you already have over paid for the phone so you have money when you dont care about the phone specs and are willingly paying for it.

If you open up the phone before the warranty is up then you lose the warranty too.
Are you even thinking what you are saying before writing it down ?

- customer that want top keep their phone
- refurbishing phone ( a phone can have 2 or 3 life !)
- and also some security concerns, like I don't know... Battery becoming a spicy pillow...
The second problem of this phone is the soldered charging port. Charging port aren't eternal and will broke in 3/4 years of daily usage.

My biggest problem here is that it uses a coin style rotary vibration motor. It will probably feel horrible.

By the time you need to change battery it's anyways better to buy a new phone. It's not like you are green when you change the battery when you already went and over paid like crazy with the phone in the first place.

That battery removal mechanism is unacceptable. Apple and Samsung have shown that battery replacements don’t have to be complicated, but Google chose these stupid pull tabs instead. I’m glad Google implemented battery health features on the Pixel 9a, but that’s no excuse for making the battery so hard to replace.
