Smartphones has very little pixels very dense while 4K TV has much bigger pixels..
For example I think only Sony made 4K smartphone was it Z ? Where labelled as ''4k'' but had 800 od ppi while for example 42'' TV labelled ''4k'' has only around 100 ppi

All started in holywood cinematography.. those titles and names ''labels'' were made up by someone else.. There are only aspect ratios and from them are set columns and rows..
You can't adjust only X and only Y .. You adjusting screen by Z

"2K resolution is a generic term for display devices or content having a horizontal resolution of approximately 2,000 pixels"
The xK resolution is measured with the screen in the horizontal position.
The real 4K resolution is 4096 x 2160 pixels, and UHD resolution is actually 3,8K, but was a marketing acceptance to call UHD->4K
By the cinema straddled format who invented the xK terminology, your "laptop with WQXGA which is 16:10 2560 × 1600" has a 2,5K screen:

portrait : 1440 x 3168
wide: 3168 x 1440
Despite u see wide 3168 it is not 3k screen but rather 2K+ or 2.5K ... as phone isn't wide enough in portrait...
You always have to go from aspect ratio base of the screen
4k = official cinema is 4096 x 2160 DCI which is 17:9 aspect ratio
UHD = the aspect ratio needed to be narrowed down because TVs and monitors are 16:9
UWQHD = is ultra wide quad HD 3440 × 1440 21:9 aspect ratio considered 2k+
WQHD = is wide quad hd 2560 × 1440 16:9 considered 2k
I have laptop with WQXGA which is 16:10 2560 × 1600 but it is still 2k screen

The X200 Ultra's 818 sensors are much better... moreBoth the Sony LYT 900 and the Sony LYT 818 share the same LYT technology, the only difference being the size of the sensors, LYT 900 is ~ 70% larger compared to LYT 818.

I've watched plenty of comparison videos. Most of the reviewers were comparing x200p with others especially with x100p which imx989 and x100u with lyt900.
The new lyt818 seemed slightly behind just slightly(if you're crazy about pixel and a little more noise) and x200p were just released. It took a few updates settle and latest comparisons are showing a neck to neck comparison.
Idk from where all these arguments coming!

The X200 Ultra's 818 sensors are much better... moreAs others have pointed out, LYT900 is simply a more capable sensor than the LYT818, the smaller sensor size and 2x2 OCL makes LYT818 an inferior sensor physically, and that's a HARDWARE issue.
The 2x ISZ shots taken with the LYT818 shows notable degradation for exactly the reason stated above (once again, as others have already pointed out). It's not a bad sensor by any means, but saying that it's better than LYT900 is simply absurd.
