Iphones have also always been historically better at software longevity than Galaxy phones to the point that you've upgraded 2 or 3 times before your old iphone is reduced to just security updates
And a consumer paying thousands for a Samsung has every right to expect their phone to have timely updates, especially when they advertise the longevity that is 7 years of software updates. Though I guess you shouldn't expect that from samsung devices specifically, considering how every other aspect of their devices is outdated by several years

lots peoples complain about samsung delaying the android 15 update but let me assure that samsung is still faster than the likes of xiaomi coz xiaomi update policy is terrible & xiaomi don't update publicly when your is getting it - eg poco f5 update to hyper os 2 still no news though it was officially release months ago

The majority of iOS users never think about updates or app updates until something doesn't work because of a lack of updates, and a loud minority actively oppose ever updating anything lol Meanwhile Android ppl constantly need the number on their software update version to go higher or else they feel cheated, its similar to how they pick the phone based off of the higher numbers on the spec sheets as well. So weird to me.

KondriX, 10 Apr 2025I'm not defending anyone, but people are overreacting ... moreIt's Samsung's fault, they overhyped their update support with that amazing claim of 7 years worth of updates. Even if they will eventually give you those updates it's completely pointless if they are gonna stay a whole cycle behind others.

It's not like you can't do anything on A14 and everything will be changed drastically with A15. I don't have a Samsung phone for myself but it's already tiring to see people cry over nothing on internet these days. Peace

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2025Aww come on Xiaomi you can do better than that https://9... moreSamsung's version numbers work differently than Xiaomi's do. For example, HyperOS 2 is Xiaomi's latest Android skin and it runs on multiple Android versions (down to A13 iirc), while Samsung bumps the version number even if there's barely anything added. It's just a new build.

KondriX, 09 Apr 2025Why are people bashing Samsung A15 update like it's so... more"a little bit later" Pretty much every other manufacturer completed their android 15 rollouts MONTHS ago, while samsung only just started two days ago, and won't be done for several months. Part of the expectation of new, expensive, high end devices is that that device will receive quick, consistant, and timely updates. Being worth hundreds of billions, its ridiculous that Samsung can't accomplish that- and that's only emphasized when you think about how much much smaller companies like Nothing are able to beat samsung to the punch.
There are no excuses for this. Quit defending Samsung

Anonymous, 09 Apr 2025Samsung is always on beta Android 15Samsung reportedly began One UI 8 (Android 16) development more than two months earlier than usual. Multiple test builds have already been spotted on servers:
- Galaxy S25 Series: Initial One UI 8 builds (BYC1) appeared about a month ago on test server (S938BXXU1BYC1/ S938BOXM1BYC1/S938BXXU1BYC1),
with 3 days ago updated versions (BYD4) seen recently (S938BXXU2BYD4/S938BOXM2BYD4/S938BXXU2BYD4) with bootloader change 1->2.
- Galaxy Z Fold 6 / Flip 6: new One UI 8 test builds (CYD3) have also surfaced (F956BXXU2CYD3/F956BOXM2CYD3/F956BXXU2CYD3 and F741BXXU2CYD3/F741BOXM2CYD3/F741BXXU2CYD3)
Furthermore, a benchmark leak (Geekbench) of a Galaxy S25 (SM-S931B with Snapdragon 8 Elite) running One UI 8 showed significant performance gains, up to 32%, suggesting optimization is well underway.
This new update could show an even smoother and more efficient user experience. Samsung is expected to roll out One UI 8 across its latest S/Z series lineup in the coming months.

Android sales says otherwise hahahahhaahaha, and Samsung have always updated their devices quickly over the last few years, this year they took long because how big of an update One UI 7 was and they built it from the ground up
Dont worry let Android 16 and 17 come out we see who does it faster and better :D
Keep that same energy
