The marketing doesn't really match with the specs we saw earlier. This gives me a faint hope that there's something better to come and I hope it does come. It would be a breath of fresh air in the dirt of cheap Chinese and Samsung F/M/A series crap that plague the entry and low-mid range here in India.
Also excited about the upcoming Alcatel phones and they seem promising so far, based on available rumours. And the Moto Edge 60 Stylus that's also launching on April 15th.

Their weakness is the high initial pricing for certain regions (also includes subpar chipset choices for certain devices, depends on how you see it). The end-user-repairability and dirt-cheap prices for spare parts justify the higher price, for better or for worse. The other concern is the reduced quantity of updates, but they unlock bootloaders upon request, which is warmly welcome.

Sidenote: There are also Acer smartphones by Senwa Global International sold in Latin America and Spain. When the Acer by Indkal smartphones were first announced last year i remembered a random Acer 5G phone that showed up at Qualcomm's MWC 2024 booth with almost no coverage. I thought that could be one of the new phones for India but in reality it's one of Senwa's Acer Sospiro phones (AQ9 to be specific)

says "The Acer trademarks are licensed to Indkal Technologies Private Limited by Acer Incorporated", that's why I think this is an Indkal device. Maybe this is for a yet-unseen Acer phone and not the Acerones?

the specs of both of their new phones are very basic like it's from 2018.. understandably since they just re-entered the market, the 2nd gen should be more competitive with other competitors.
HMD Nokia in 2017 was able to attract many people because its phone specifications were more recent that year.

Why let this other company ruin your brand value and goodwill by releasing such DOA phones? Goddamn I haven't seen specs these bad since forever. Heck, even the cheapest Redmi phone, the Redmi A3 is leagues better than these E-Waste devices.

The Acerone phones and Acer by Indkal phones are not related. They're both selling in India but Acerone smartphones are sold by Acerpure which is a subsidiary of Acer while Acer smartphones are sold by Indkal

I hope their brand image doesn't get ruined. Acer has been around for a while and, although they've largely been overtaken by their competitors, their brand still carries some goodwill.
