The Trump administration is preparing a new round of tariffs targeting semiconductors and smartphones.

Well he says not for long, but then they were supposed to be permanent when first announced. The truth is that he's a clueless, blustering numpty who talks big but then rows back whenever it produces consequences, and so you can't take any pronouncements like this as meaningful because he doesn't know what he'll do himself.

But then this is someone who either thinks that it's the country exporting to the US, rather than the US companies doing the importing, who pays the tariffs. Or if he doesn't think that, he's consistently lying to the American public.

    There appears to be no further advantage in Apple silicon. Apple have lost their 2 generation lead. I guess the only reason people have in buying iPhones is availability, carrier deals, iOS and Apple brand.
