Most brands sadly push out half baked updates these days because it requires a lot of money and R&D support to push out regular stable updates. What they also do is deliberately slow down older devices with updates so it gives a feeling of diminishing returns.

    Samsung - 7 years of OS Updates❌

Also Samsung - 7 years in giving 5 OS Updates✅

1kelvin, 15 Apr 2025half of us dont even have one ui 7 yet 😭Majority of the world, mate.

They can't release the stable for s24 of one ui 7. You speaking or ui8? That's like a distraction

S25U will enjoy the update by the end of 2026

DarlingYext, 23 hours agoLess models, yet they still can't update any of them lmaoYet they are updating some of them, I have one of the new Galaxy tab FE tablets here and it got the April security patch yesterday. Yes that is running One Ui 7 out of the box, but things are moving at least.

Look, I know how much all things Samsung seem to bother you (you are after all, most vocal on the subject) and I'm not defending what has been going on here, this whole One Ui 7 roll out has been a disaster.

It is a fairly extensive update mind, kind of Samsung's version of the iOS 7 or Android 12 overhauls. And it looks as though One Ui 8 will be a more straight forward update, simply porting the One Ui elements over to Android 16.

So i'm kind of hoping that once they get this whole One Ui 7 business sorted they can get back on the pretty decent update track they were on previously.

New major update(s) may bring new major issue(s), it will be a bad news if the update coming near the end of the phone's lifetime.

Furthermore, I don't really see benefit when updating one to another, just slight feature(s) updates which usually I don't use or even care.

                        Laughs in OneUI 6/A14 in 2024's A35..

Maybe Samsung should skip the OneUI 7 update altogether and go for OneUI 8/A16 instead.
