I thought God could do without a phone since at least Moses) emphasises the number of clicks required during the operation, which could indeed prove unpleasant. I don't know because I've only had Samsung for years.

I already feel my updates seamless with my s23 since; they are scheduled to install after midnight. Whenever there is an update, I wake up with a freshly updated phone. I see no benefit of such a new feature.

I Am GoD 9, 16 Apr 2025Because "seamless" updates are too slow compared... moreThe One ui 7 update took that amount of time to download & install most likely due to your device being the latest flagship with speedy hardware (assuming you're talking about the stable build, which only the s24 series & fold/flip 6 series have received), but for older and lower end phones with slower processors and storage chips, the update takes much longer to both download and install.
And while Pixels do take longer to download and install updates (Never heard of or seen a pixel taking almost 30 minutes), they are still completely usable during the whole process- minus the 30ish seconds it takes to reboot the phone. It's also fair to mention that this is really only a pixel issue, other phones with seamless updates don't take that long to update

saarb737, 16 Apr 2025fck samsung for removing the SD CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!They really want you to pay more for cloud storage anyway. I stopped relying on it when I went to my mum's rural hometown. Really learned the lesson the hard way.

I watched a youtube channel called "Versus" where they compared A16-26-36-56 & I was blown away how bad the Snapdragon ISP is in A36.
The colors A36 produces are overly magenta, whereas A16 & A26 have much better colors because of their well optimized Exynos ISPs.
Samsung should release a Galaxy A36 hotfix ASAP to fix the Magenta color situation! 👎

Well, I would be happy with ANY kind of update. A35 is still on Android 14 and february security patch. I guess I'll see S26 Ultra with Android 16 before A35 gets Android 15 🙄...

None of the Exynos 1280/1380 devices have A/B support, they are still running off the same old 2023 kernel made by Samsung.
The M56 might have this feature if its not an ODM product.

"The bad news is that the A26 doesn't. Suffice to say, this makes no sense, but it is what it is."
It actually kind of does make sense, as the A26 is just a recycled 2, or 3 year old phone depending on which of the two possible chipsets it has.

I Am GoD 9, 16 Apr 2025Because "seamless" updates are too slow compared... moreThis description is super-helpful. Can you also share the phone model for which you experienced the 'seamless' OS update? I'm only asking so I can understand if the UFS storage type influences the speed of update installation.

I can only assume that Samsung is now building the confidence to give seamless updates to the wider market. If the seamless update for A36 is a success, they might roll it on A27 and, hopefully, A17.

Because "seamless" updates are too slow compared to how Samsung does it now.
I.e.
One UI 7 update was 5,5GB, took just under 9 minutes from start to finish download (~5 min, could still use use my phone; and 3-4 minutes to install and refresh apps). One click to download, another to confirm restart.
Google's method takes more clicks. Also it took 27 minutes for a measely 25.4MB security update. I hate updating my Pixel or any Android device that updates like that. It's not truly seamless or behind the scenes
