Samsung already succeed in this.
While also making an ad, showing and mocking Apple that Samsung Galaxy phones (I forgot if its an S series or Note series) IS water resistant while also having a headphone jack.
Samsung would later remove that mocking ad, and copy Apple to up-sell Samsung first party peripherals and in "hopes" that Samsung would be as successful as Apple.
Which is absolutely hilarious because as of 2025, Samsung continues to "hope" while also puzzled why they can not copy Apple's success.

In some markets, Samsung maintain their pricing and inventory quite closely, so the A35 is still more expensive than the A26. Then there’s availability as well. As time goes, it will be harder to find the A35 than the A26/A36.
But sure, if one finds the A35 to be better, then by all means. I’m just saying that I’m glad Samsung is trickling down features reserved for more expensive devices to lower models. I don’t see why that is a bad thing.

A26 just doesn't make any sense other than to just have a new model in the line to buy (specially when it's worse in important things like the screen and speakers Vs the old gen which will be way cheaper at this point).

potato4k, 20 Apr 2025On the contrary, to me the A26 getting IP rating and the sa... moreThe thing is, the A26 lost the headphone jack AND stereo speakers as well, and it's very well known that these are nothing but ODM products and both the A25 and A26 came from the same place, so they are both water resistant to the exact same level, Samsung chose to pay for the IP rating this time, but not last year, that's the only difference, and that's what you are paying for here, while getting less features than last year.
Not to mention, the version Samsung gave for LATAM is a literal scam.

Last year, the A35 was the cheapest Samsung phone with IP rating. Now, the A26 has IP67, and even the A06 has IP54. So it's good that this features no longer requires a premium. And it's good that Samsung is finally trickling down quad A78 cores to lower models. Here's hoping the next A17 can finally graduate from the ancient dual A76 cores.

The A06 is just a rebadged of the A05 theyre practically the same device
The A16 is also just the A15 with longer promised supported OS
Now the A26 this is just the A25 basically but with the A35 chipset and thats it, only the chipset, the body itself is just the A25 rebadged anew

This review missed something. galaxy A26 does not have a headphone jack aswell. So if that matters to you, the A25 is the one to choose.
