Exposure time management is much simpler and apple will have worse color accuracy, tonemapping and details in comparison. Besides that, androids have a next move to counter, one which apple won't be able to counter with their current supplier.

vik457, 16 Apr 2025But will their lead stay? No, it won'tin the CPU front specifically? yeah. The M series chips are leagues ahead of others.

In terms of videography? It depends, yeah Vivo's gonna pull ahead with dcg but what happens when Apple uses it themselves? Android manufacturers need to up their videography game up alongside trying to increase the efficiency and the shutter speed in the auto mode. There's still a ways to go.

We need to suspect the initial assumption that we (including myself) made when we looked at the X200 Pro samples. Vivo never talked about the sensor's HDR capability during the X200 Pro announcement, whereas the DCG-HDR being available across the whole camera array was the first thing they mentioned during the video recording section of the X200 Ultra tech showcase - Was this new HDR even used on X200 Pro in the first place?

Also, according to Sony, LYT-818 has a lower read noise than LYT-900 thanks to the ultra-high conversion gain circuit, which becomes crucial in low light because read noise becomes the most prominent source of noise when there's little light for the sensor to capture. Was this ever utilised in X200 Pro, either?

We would also need to take into account the fact that the Dimensity 9400's ISP was clearly holding it back from its full potential (As seen on the 85mm equivalent telephoto camera which was clearly better on X100 Ultra despite the hardware specs being the same).

I'm quite certain at this point that the X200 Ultra will at least match the X100 Ultra in terms of per-pixel-level detail rendition in photo mode. I'm expecting to see better videographic capability on the former as well, now the sensor-level real-time HDR is going to be properly utilised.

"Same will be happening to 200 ultra, same hardware"
Different lenses on all three cameras and different image processing chips - Do you seriously call this the "same hardware"? lol.

              And edited on MacBook

Dont need to read the article about it.
Graphics designers love the Apple inclusive graphics application that you can't have on windows or linux so you can make wonders in there with what ever camera or phone you film anything

There have been posts on this site which shows the Vivo 200 Ultra to be better at pics than the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. Just go back a week or so through the phone posts. Sorry i don't have those links at hand right now as proof.

Okay but those 1 inch sensor phones tho.

Nothing beats shooting log on the Xiaomi 15 Ultra and then color grading it.

Watch this video for a really cool demo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E6bbCoexvTQ

iPhone's pro res is the best in the business, their videography's hdr rendition is only beaten by Sony and that's due to the fact that Sony's HDR is in the HLG format which is easily backwards compatible with SDR, absolute perfection that thing.

And the Macbooks' M series chips are exceptional, with the right cooling. I have no doubt that decent films can be made by someone with a vision and these 2 devices. However, the cost of the storage required to shoot an actual film is gonna account for half the budget cus yeowzers Apple's storage costs are higher than the device itself sometimes lmao

whatever the case, this commercial doesnt really matter for the most part, it doesnt really pull in new customers, as they'd buy iPhones regardless of this. However i think it does help to strengthen the brand image, as a bragging right sort of thing. And that they have earned. A shame that any hobbyist filmmaker is gonna go broke trying to pull this off tho lmao better to just get a nice pc and a second hand dedicated camera.

Everything can be edited in post to look really good. They shot the movie Tangerine (2015) on an iPhone 5s (they used three of them), as well as using some special equipment for microphones, lighting, Steadicam, and an anamorphic adapter from Moondog Labs (to capture widescreen).

Couldn't care less. This is no stunt, not just marketing of shot on iPhone but a finished product made from them. iPhones are used as main cameras in many Asian countries. Apple highlighting them is a good thing and gives artists much-needed exposure.

Apple looks like company from 2015 trying too hard to remain relevant in today's bleeding edge world

It's propped up by sales from the US and 1% in third world
