vivo X200 Ultra already got disassembled on video

It's a very in-depth take that carefully shows us all of its internals.

just look at those printed information on those batteries

its simply because the battery chemistry cant be created at exact same value, some battery bound to have more extra juice than rest

so not new things that chinese-company doing
and charging to 100% even it have some buffer, it still degrade faster than charging to ~80%, 100% with buffer still closer to full compared to 80%

that said, whats degrade batteries most is heat, so as long the batteries stay cool (below ~35C) it will still last good enough

It's extremely easy to be really rough with it and drop water in an aggressive manner in it but if it's getting full you need to be more and more careful.

Just like that, juicing up a battery is just filling it with energy or transferring one electron or something from one side to the other, it's easy to do more in the beginning but later on you should be careful. When it is more full, it is more volatile and doing it faster then could hurt the battery. Which is why Samsung, Google and Apple have such slow trickle charging after 80% but it doesn't even matter as my S22 Ultra and my dad's/mum's iPhones have had horrendous battery health anyways lol

I also think that Chinese companies play it safe in a different way, they block out more of the usable battery so that, let's say a 6000 mah battery, only has 5500-5800 mah usable. that allows you to be more aggressive with whatever you have left as you're not exactly using the whole battery.

Take a look at Geekerwan's battery life video it was eye opening. The title :

        手机续航大横评!到底谁的电池最耐用?

oh and i have 2 new youtubers for you :

        https://www.youtube.com/@dajiatest
        https://www.youtube.com/@mediastorm6801

The first two videos on X200 Ultra of dajia test i just finished watching and i must say bro they're top notch! Highly recommend!!

And Mediastorm's videos are masterpieces in terms of photography/videography, quite enjoyable and just a feast for the eyes. I forgot about these channels but then found them again when looking for X200 Ultra vids.

Strange point is in theory, data and control signals could be multiplexed or otherwise transmitted through the same physical cable that carries the main power and ground. So why use two flex cables if batteries are not seperated? Are they transferring a different data through the second one?

Oppo has single one yes despite having two cells but they use a jumper from one battery to another or connect it through the mb inside the battery. Seeing two flex cable for single cell seemed awkward to me. Maybe sth with limitations that they couldn't pass through one.

But again you could be right because this could explain the charging time and speed.

Do you know why such approach? I mean why it peaks in early stages then drops dramatically low? Not even half way lol in comparison to the max output the adapter gives.

brsdrgn, 24 Apr 2025It's not single. It looks like single due to the way t... morenot really, the find x8 ultra and iqoo 13 both have dual cell designs yet have only one head. Same goes for the Oneplus 12. The Xiaomi 15 Pro/15 Ultra have 2 heads and it also has slower charging. The X100 Ultra had 2 heads as well.

The heads dont really matter as the S25 Ultra has one as well so you cant say it's the same as an Oppo. You can just easily take a look at what's written and make a guess. Batteries aren't wrapped together, they are wrapped separately, each cell has its amount written on it. I highly doubt they're going to make an exception JUST for the X200 Ultra. It's rated at 5880 mah, instead of two separate smaller ones.

Even then, you can just take a look at the charging times and easily tell the X200 Ultra's charging speed is significantly lower. Be it due to the wattage OR a single cell design, the key takeaway is that the charging is just slower. It charges at essentially the same rate as, if not slower than, the S25 Ultra till 80%.

Just look at the flex cables coming from the both sides. It's still 2 seperate batteries.

Yep, those cameras are huge, especially the periscope module.

the phone has a single cell design so the charging speeds will be slower than the Oppo for example.

The good thing is that at least the charging speed is going to be on par with the x100 ultra, perhaps they're being a little lenient with the power and stuff.

I wish there was a phone with a single, or maybe 2, humongous OP sensors.

I couldn't care less about zoom or ultrawide. I don't even care much about video.
If there was a phone with a leap in everyday shots, I'd buy that instead of some gimmick zoom. Closest seems to be these x100/x200 & p60.

Maybe that'll be the next step in marketing. Make a S26 Ultra "Creator" edition. That'll be a crappy stretch of history.

What I don't like is charging graphs. They give 90w charger yet during the charging from 0 to 100, it peaks to highest watts in early percentages which not not even 80w the drops dramatically and goes around 30-40w level mostly. What's the sense of advertising about fast charging then? Charging time increased too. 48 mins. Meanwhile we keep seeing 120w, 240w in middle range phones.

Okay it might be for protecting the battery but then why it peaks so quick?

Isn't it harmful to push the battery to the limits without getting in the middle?

Because it seems like it's pushing hard then probably heats up amd in order to compensate with it, it goes slowly later. I wonder in what kind of environment they did the charging. Knowing the channel is quite organized, I'm guessing they used room temperature.

Then it means sth messed up with charging algorithm.

I honestly don't know about the factors of these techy batteries. From li-ion or li-pol batteries, I know that they usually start slow then peaks coming close to the middle then slows down till the end.

With vivo it starts slow then suddenly jumps and then suddenly drops. After that goes way below the upper threshold slightly slowing down until full charge. Seems ridiculous honestly. But maybe there's sth different with these silicon carbon batteries.

After I mentioned the channel in one of my comments, here it is lol

YouTube has auto translation option and English is available. It doesn't work as intended sometimes gets totally silent then starts translating super fast. FYI it wasn't even available in the past after asking them they started to let that feature.

The style of their video always follows the same structure so after some time you get used to it.

BTW im the video they mention that beauty effect is on the right spot for Asian ladies. He says every lady would mention the way it shows their face. He also mentions that an option for men is available too that doesn't smooth out the skin too much. He seems to like it very much as well

So, the lesson here is that we people want this phone in west and plenty of people are criticizing it on yt that they smooth the skin too much. Yet their focus is there (China) so it's pretty much normal after hearing the comments from the channel. It's not that bad for us though as they listen to the customers around the world.

That hp9 has added all that extra thickness not only in Vivo phones but others as well. The module literally sit on the bottom of the frame meanwhile the others elevated to adjust focal length. 35mm seems to be sitting quite deep as well. Looks like they did their best to keep the bump smaller. Hp9 module even got bigger lol. It was being mocked last year for its giant size and now has a few more mms added to its dimensions.

The giant copper dissipation layer is impressive, sitting under the display. I remember the old times that I was using Samsung. I always had ghost screen with each of them. The companies didn't know how to handle heat problem and the tech wasn't that developed for amoled displays around that time. After 2018 they started to tame it even more. When I was using my last Samsung, I remember that I didn't have ghost screen(amoled burn) but a glue gate all around the edges along with the selfie cam punch hole surrounding. In the low light it was pretty much annoying. It was even more annoying knowing that samsung is one of the giant display producers. I've been using vivo for the last 3 years and there's nothing wrong the display. No burn no leak no brightness issue whatsoever despite using it quite heavily and gaming on it. I was scared like hell with samsung's playing a game and keeping static visual on the display very long. Or watching hdr videos with static logos around the corners.

Chinese manufacturers seems to be doing a really good job with the internals.

So the biggest camera bump is due to that they left space under UW? It would be so much better if they made the phone itself a little bit thicker but with bigger battery and motherboard designed for with space for all camera modules and slimmer camera bump

Such an awesome phone, its very unfortunate that were not getting it over here in the US. Competition is stale here- Samsung, Apple, and Google have left innovation in the dust and all use very outdated specs by todays standards. We do still have Motorola and OnePlus, but OnePlus has poor carrier support, and Motorola really only sells budget and midrange phones here.

Innovation and improvement seems to have been left in 2020, which was the same year we lost LG- that's definitely not a coincidence.
