Capturing 77% marketshare with that many players is outright bonkers. Huawei is currently in beast mode. Western reviewers can't get over the lack of Google or Snapdragon chipsets before failing utterly in analysing what makes Huawei foldables so good.

People seem to forget that Huawei is a pioneer in foldable phones and still pushing foldable tech while Samsung has completely dropped off.

Huawei is just crazy they even sell the Mate XT Ultimate in Indonesia.. making it the most expensive phone here. On local YouTube channels, millions of people are watching about this foldable phone.. it really attracts many people with this crazy innovation.

potato4k, 24 Apr 2025Well duh. It would be embarrassing if they didn't cons... moreWhere did you get that idea from? It's nonsense. The government has a state subsidy programme going on this year with a 15% discount on phones up to a maximum 500rmb (there is a cap at 500 rmb). This is only available though for phones up to 6,000rmb. Most of Huawei's flaghship phones and all foldables are outside the 6,000rmb so they can't get this subsidy for their products. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has actually grown its market share (overall but not in foldables) a lot since this subsidy was introduced as most of their phones fall under 6,000rmb except their ultra model and foldables. The government doesn't have any special incentives to buy Huawei phones. Chinese consumers buy what they want.

Iphone is still the best TECHNOLOGIA lol

Well duh. It would be embarrassing if they didn't considering the government literally were forcing the affluent Chinese to buy them.

Quite understandable. Home ground. And let's be honest, there hasn't been much going on from the other foldable brands. Samsung is complacent as always with minimal upgrades and the dated looks. Newer players are more innovative while some are trying to push the price down.

Huawei on the other hand has been pushing different designs and aspect ratios despite their OS limitations. And Huawei doesn't skimp on the cameras of their foldables.
