24 April 2025
Most people seem to want something under 6.5-inch screen size.

Most average users won't see a difference in the camera apart from the zoom, maybe.
But they can definitely feel differences in size and weight, especially if you use your phone case less.

people who needs compact phone can use keypad phone 4 good

Look at something like the unihertz jelly max

If people were serious they would buy it even if it meant making a compromise on the quality to at least support the preferences you want in a smartphone size

But instead they put their energy and time in arguing on the internet use your wallet and support what you want

Which is more likely to get a compact smartphone with specs that you want?

Arguing over the internet or purchasing a certain smartphone model

Btw they even upgraded the camera performance on the unihertz jelly max

I'm not even a compact smartphone guy and I'm more invested in knowing about the phone

        This is a VOCAL MINORITY

People can get mad at me all they want

The silent MAJORITY doesnt want compact smartphones

The market already chose against them people voted with their wallets

They even perceive smaller phones as inherently lower quality even with the same chipset I remember reading something like that from some apple data pool re the mini

You can muster up the biggest reply comment all you want reality is bitter the majority has moved away from compact smartphones and no matter how it hurts your feelings or you disagree with it reality is reality

I can see the appeal of smaller phones, you can use it with just one hand, very convenient indeed!

We need more smaller/compact phones nowdays, cuz the market is the opposite of 2010s. Giant nearing 7 inch bricks, as opposed to very tiny phones that you're forced to use keypad-style keyboard. Besides, a little more flavors and choices would be nice

Maybe decent chipset is possible, like how decent? Because I can just say that SD 4 gen 2 is decent cuz it is Snapdragon. Carbon silicon battery makes the great capacity possible

                Now its the opposite

Samsung does NOT sell a compact alternative to the flagship. The s25 cameras are severely downgraded compared to the ultra or other real flagship phones.
Only Apple has the iPhone 16 Pro and now Google has the Pixel 9 Pro, so these seem like the only two real options. (also Sony, but I've always found them underwhelming in the past)

Still using my ZF10. Hopefully, the OP13T launches in the US.

"Setting aside the fact that the survey was commissioned by OnePlus"

I don't think we'll set aside that fact, or the fact that OnePlus is publishing its survey results just before announcing the 13T.

It would be great if they can make a (6-6.3) inch phones with good hardware and good software support for mid-range and budget categories
beacuse it's really rare to see them in these categories (if it's not even non-exist)

well if you ask the right subset of people you can generate every answer you want so taking this with a spoon of salt is correct.
There's an obvious contradiction in the data as they claim 88% want a smaller phone yet 30% want a phone at least 6,5" in size. Doesn't really add up and "compact" is very subjective anyway. To someone using a 6,7"-6,9" flagship 6,5" will feel compact and it's the opposite for someone used to 6,1"-6,3" base models

What is this article on about the iPhone mini and market trends being at odds with this survey? The survey shows little demand for sub 6 inch, massive demand for 6 to 6.5, and moderate demand for 6.5 plus. That's exactly in line with iPhone sales. I know gsm commenters get 5.4" and 6.1" confused in their heads but how can paid writers?

sony compact - ridiculous price. selling "premium branding" instead the actual hardware
