c, 03 May 2025they're completely different phones, a56 is midrange, ... more"they're completely different phones, a56 is midrange, s24 fe is flagship"
It's true that they are completely different phones, and out ot the two only the S24 FE is worth it, but I wouldn't call either of them a flagship.
The S24 FE has a pretty good, but not flagship level chipset, mediocre battery size with okay battery life, an 8 MP, telephoto which is only 1/4.4" in size, and that is absolutely tiny, when some midrange phones can offer at least twice as large periscope telephoto cameras. The S24 FE also only has 25W charging, while even the A36 has 45W now. The display is only 1080p, just like Samsung's midrange devices, so not really flagship level either. The RAM situation, at only 8GB is also a big miss, and so is the ultrawide camera with fixed focus.
For people that want a cheaper device from Samsung, I would recommend the A55, if the 45W charging isn't necessary for one.

s24 fe was released with android 14 and has 7 year software support, 14+7=21
a56 was released with android 15 and has 6 year software support, 15+6=21

You guys are wrong. They're actually in the same price bracket in this very moment, as the amazon prices show and different online stores, 420-450 for both so yeah they're competing.
And you know what, the A56 doesn't hold a candle to the much better S24FE.
Just compare it: S24FE has a much better soc, ip68, better cameras with 4k60 both front and back modules, better sound, usb-c 3.2 vs 2.0, samsung dex, wireless and reverse wireless charge. Is this a contest, really? The only thing the A56 wins is battery life. Updates? A56 has 1 year advantage but i doubt after 6 yrs that means anything and anyone that has the S24FE willl have better experience in smoothness etc

Not sure why this is even a comparison. They’re both in a different price bracket (unless you happened to get a good deal or promo). People in market for the A56 won’t be in the same price segment as the S24FE, and vice versa.

they're completely different phones, a56 is midrange, s24 fe is flagship
if you want a great all round phone that can last you for years, for gaming, premium features like wireless charging and external display support(a game changer, you can turn your phone into a gaming pc), telephoto camera. 10bit hdr video recording, etc go for the s24 fe
the s series has many more software features compared to the a series
the difference in price is quite small in some places, the s24 fe on sale is almost the same price as the a56 at full price, if you're a samsung fan and already have an a-series, joining the s series is worth it

Anonymous, 03 May 2025I wonder whether wireless charging will ever come to the A5... moreProbably not anytime soon. 45W wired charging was only introduced now. I reckon they will stick to that for at least the next 2 or 3 years.

I had the A54 and I was going to get the A56 but since the SD slot is no longer present on the A-Series, I decided to shop around and found myself a brand new and sealed S24 FE on Facebook Marketplace for cheaper than an A56. Very happy with my decision though!

I'm gonna buy one of them. A56 8/256 costs ~$340 USD while S24FE 8/256 costs ~$420 USD. which one should I buy?

I work in retail and A56 is under 500 euros, S24 FE is 800+ euros.
For people here, who wouldn't order from Amazon etc, there is no "same price" in this matter. I wonder how that works for some to offer them in the same price range while stores STOREs have them at such a different price.

for me S24 FE or generally previous FE series is the most worth or value for money Samsung phone. Decent performance, telephoto and some flagship feature like wireless charging.
