Ahmad faisal berry, 04 May 2025Samsung semiconductor and exynos 2600 production, reportedl... moreWhat you're saying is related to technical aspect, not ethical. It may be any amount of efficient, but you're not answering my question:- if anything goes wrong even now, will Samsung correct it for users?
TSMC is reliable, even if not the best performing ever.
Still, many M55, F55, M55s, etc are being sold in India despite (some units) being defective. Who will refund their owners?

Apple hasn't used 2nm tsmc yet, production costs are still expensive, around $30,000 thousand usd per wafer, basic standard fabrication variant. 2nm tsmc yield is still not perfect, it is expected that Qualcomm SD 8 elite Gen 2 will be produced by 3nm tsmc generation 3 and 2nm samsung to reduce tsmc, tsmc access to 2nm fabrication is not easy and the cost is also expensive for production (samsung foundry market share 12% vs tsmc 67.1% Q4 2024 there is indeed a very big difference. semiconductor can only compete with tsmc only samsung foundry and even then it burns money like crazy. amd's global foundries are not known, their market share is used by third parties other than amd)

DarlingYext, 03 May 2025The 7 Gen 1, as well as other chipsets like the 8 Gen 1 and... moreactually Qualcomm still uses Samsung Foundry services, except MediaTek fully uses TSMC services/ how about SD 6 Gen 3 and XR2+ Gen 2 SoCs, are they also bad? why would Samsung Foundry invest in the United States if not to compete closely with TSMC, starting operations in 2030. Samsung Foundry aspires to build a semiconductor megacluster in collaboration with Skyhynix. clearly all are burning money, either making a profit or a big loss.

The way the... moreWhile true Samsung had choice to use or not to use, fault is from Arm themselves A710 shouldn't exist.
And it's not just Samsung issues even Tsmc Made soc like 8+ gen 1 and 7+ gen 2 they still trail behind dimensity 8100 even though they use superior node.

The way they're shoving an unreliable midrange chipset down customer's throat is not trust-inspiring. They're still selling it as we talk..
Is this the same tech-giant that called back all Note 7, and won customer respect in 2016? or has it changed?
Tomorrow, if something or the other goes wrong with Elite 2, will they man up and take responsiblity? In a flagship where a person has spent almost his 1 month income?

Ra-Iri, 01 May 2025And add the absolute inefficient Mongoose cores in the 2018... moreMongoose was the genuine mistake samsung made. Exynos both before and after mongoose era are perfectly fine chips, and mostly stand up to their competitors. Mongoose tainted the exynos name an unbelievable amount.

Anonymous, 01 May 2025Is there any samsung made SOC working efficiently SD 820 until 845 used Samsung fab.
And recently, Exynos 1580 is pretty good for a midrange SoC tbh.
