Akinaro, 05 May 2025OEMs advertise AI because they invest money in it and now t... moreOh, is that why OEMs usually don't bring AI features to older devices through updates even when the device is actually capable? They'd not want to farm those users data in a larger way, too? Funny!

Case in point: A version of samsung Internet browser released about a week ago had a way to enable AI Summarise from the debug settings. I enabled it on my Galaxy s21+ and the feature actually became available on the browser app and worked well, just like it does on my Galaxy S23 Ultra. Guess what? The app got another update. After updating, the feature went missing on my S21+ with no way to enable it again through the debug menu. They clearly didn't intend for S21+ users to have that feature, which is strange seeing as they really want to farm my data more.

Also AI is best way to gather user data and for past like 10 years data gathering is main income for most of tech companies.

And still lots of people dont like AI because in real life for average person it just dont work as advertised, it often annoy people. Its limited, search results are often to basic.

            Garbage AI.
I gave some random numbers and told it to calculate.
It showed 3 different answer 3 times and all 3 was wrong.
AI can't be trusted like God, Governments and Goons.

Then there are the two minorities of those who love AI and think the near future will be like a sci fi movie, and those who dislike AI because of privacy reasons.

Regular users love Ai. You lot must think that OEMs are dumb seeing as they keep advertising AI on phone announcements/launches.

AI will make already not working searches worse and it will only find the paid results better than it does now... Are they also going to ask for money to use AI or not?

Every user for past 2 years: We dont need useless AI on our devices.
Every company for past 2 years: Here is exactly the same AI as before but with new name and logo!

Google copying Microsoft left and right, now with AI Mode which is like Copilot Search:
                      https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/bing/copilot-search/

Also, I ask again: why is GSMArena always inclined to present these news for Google but not for Microsoft, especially when MS releases the same features first which Google copies later?

Especially for Americans, I expect them to vote for Trump via Google in the next elections as new feature.

So basically this sits in between Gemini's 2.5 Pro and Research mode, but more visually appealing and less presented like an essay.

I can see the appeal for this, though they should get rid of AI Overviews then.
