Early Motorola Edge 70 renders show a very familiar design

I like the design, it reminds me of the reno8. If they went for a better coloured glass back or used different materials like they did on the razr 60 ultra it would be a lot nicer.

jiyen235, 5 hours agoit's only been used for 2 years and it looks nice with... moreMy current issue trend is that more and more brands push curved screens or other lack of features, because others at some point nailed it. I had to skip OnePlus 11/12, Xiaomi 13/14 Pro, the whole Moto Edge series and plenty of other current/newer brands that had curved screens in them despite a very flattering and inviting hardware upgrades over my OP 8T. I only had like several models to choose from that I didn't like in particular, but those were the only options upgrade wise. Of course, OP 13 and others are getting exceptions, but flat screens seems to be fading away slowly.
I'm aware this is "my" problem and not others as there is specific market for curved screen enthusiast, but also plenty of folks who can't endure them and desire flat panels. Imagine downgrading severely hardware wise to just obtain a flat screen? Yeah, I don't think that's feasible for many, especially upgrade wise.
As for missing features - we aren't talking about 3.5mm or memory card, but things like missing chargers in the box that are exclusively locked to specific brand and cost as much as entire low end phone.

I dont really care about billion dollar corporations, im just saying i dont care about the design as much. If you brought valid complaints like not enough bang for buck then sure, but you're talking about something quite insignificant. Call em greedy for not having an 8 Elite or something on their top tier phone, or something like that, but dont act like defending a good design is somehow equivalent to defending a corporation's greed.
Compliment the good things and criticize the bad ones.

jiyen235, 5 hours agothat's the point tho??? what do you even want? if you ... moreThere are options, after all. If they desperately need a flat design, they can consider Vivos instead, with more or less the same software experience.

Darth Caesium, 17 hours agoMotorola try not to have curved screens challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)The curved designs aren't an issue in my opinion (the only element that defines the "Edge" moniker), but the cameras need a vast redesign, as this is an ultra-common Wingtech design.

Txindoki, 14 hours agoI bet there was some confussion. This is likely the edge 60... moreIt better not be, I'm waiting for the 60 Neo and they normally have flat screens not curved. If they are curved I'm out.

Anonymous, 5 hours agoMaybe I like the software but want a fresh design? it's only been used for 2 years and it looks nice with some pretty nice colors, i dont really think there's any need for change. If you like the software so much then deal with it, the design isnt a crucial part of a phone as long as it doesnt make the phone uncomfortable to hold.

I guess I will have to wait for the 80 series 2 years from now to see if they finally drop the curved screen. Till then my moneys going elsewhere.

I wish Moto would make a spec'd out Edge plus again like the one in 2023 but offer more support. They should offer a minimum of four years of major updates. I use the edge 2024 and it has never skipped a beat I also have the 2024 power and it's so good for a 99 dollar phone.

They are following in Xiaomi footsteps with the goal to release over a dozen of the same generic poopie under different labels like Xiaomi is doing with their Note series (*cough* *cough* Note 11).
