Lee 8V88, 07 May 2025Durability will far outweigh thickness (or thin-ness...) ev... moreAgreed. Samsung has always put durability at the forefront. No reason that would change. Everybody talks big about it, but we have evidence that shows the Z5 and Z6 Fold have been more reliable. For example, SP peeling is common on the Z. It picks up around this change of season. To date, no one on reddit has posted any SP lifting and we're only two months away from the Z7. I'm sure it happens, but I haven't seen any posts. That's a first.

On the other hand, what information do we have on the durability of the foldables from China? We have nothing. They hide everything. They've been hiding it since the Mate X missed its release date in the summer of 2019. People here will say they are durable, but they have no evidence. They just have a bias. The closest we've come is the Oppo N in the form of the 1+ Open. Why do you think there isn't an Open 2? Because the durability was bad and the sales weren't enough to balance it out. Is it majority? No, but it's never the majority.

The battery volume not changing is a terrible choice. This device will be DoA for anyone that's used to the endurance of competing products from China.

Yes and still with a big crease and tiny battery compared to much better competition.
We know we dont want but Samsugn things they making super cool phone but compared to much better competition is nothing but super useless.

Durability will far outweigh thickness (or thin-ness...) every time.

If you can literally bend by hand the phone you might want to buy, that's good to know.. The next generation of thin devices will be very interesting. And I like to see what is inside expensive electronic devices and how to disassemble them.

the fold fe should've been the fold6 and this would've been a decent upgrade over it.

Anonymous, 07 May 2025You‘d rather buy a Chinese brand than an American brand? Yo... moreIt's not that I WOULD, I HAVE already bought plenty of chinese devices and will buy more in the future, as they are great.

A phone with less battery life than the old s5? Nah. Not worth the slim!

Anonymous, 07 May 2025You‘d rather buy a Chinese brand than an American brand? Yo... moreOnly American phone brands I can think of is apple, Google and Motorola devices, Samsung is Asian, HMD (Nokia was too obviously) is Scandinavian, Sony is Asian, rest are Chinese so Asian. Nothing and CMF are British.

Also those American brands use exclusively Asian workers in Asian factories using Asian parts, so yes I'd use Chinese companies and their somehow, better designed and better quality devices for less money.

So all Samsung and apple care about is how thin a device is now?

So easier to break, less room for components to stay cool and more reasons for them to remove features and hardware yet... Increased price. It's thinner though guys, buy our products!
