        The older XM4 used a 40mm driver.

        I tested out the XM5 and found that the sound quality not as good as the XM4. Hope the next XM7 would revert back to using 40mm drivers. Maybe Sony can revisit the good old MDR V7 headphones with 40mm titanium coated drivers. Classic!!

          If you are a basshead skip apple sony sennheiser bose jbl and many others. Buy skullcandy crushers. You will get headache from bass. Its very powerful. Never seen any pair with more powerful bass.

                      The joints on these Sony headphones are very fragile. Two of mine have fractured just a week after warranty. When I went to the service centre to get it repaired, the cost was more than for a new headphone of the same model.... go figure

                        How much? 449$? No way, too expensive. I'd rather stay with CA Melomania P100 for €239.00.

                            Great design update, also worth expecting better ANC with a new processor, specially after xm4 and xm5 failed to deliver in mid frequencies as opposed to wh 1000 xm3.
                            Interestingly xm4 and xm5 anc got worse shortly after release (or maybe even while in pre release), as you could find a tests(or at least 1) showing a plenty of anc improvement despite not performing so in real life.
                            So while I expect improvement, I will surely wait for rtings test graph in anc, meanwhile also to see its playback fr on graph too.

                              30mm drivers is a shame, lots of cabled headphones in this price segment have 50mm or even more

                                    Even tho just buying the headphones isn't that worth it actually for the fellow Sony Xperia 1 vii buyers like me I hope they include the for the pre-order so I can get the phone and the headphones for only 1399 which is actually a steal
