It's an interesting turn of events for sure, if this is true.

Apple and Samsung make a great team.

JLC, 09 May 2025Vlad, what are you talking about and what are you trying to... moreTo have symmetrical bezels on bottom the display panel had to be folded inwards because otherwise you need a bit of a chin to accomodate the display connector. Apple had this first even though Samsung was the one making it.

walkman8, 20 hours agoRemember the times when Samsung flagships had display panel... moreSamsung flagships are basically demo units for Samsung display business unit for their customers like Apple, who will buy it in volumes much larger than Samsung flagships themselves would ever sell.

Remember the times when Samsung flagships had display panels that were exclusive to their flagships for at least one year?

Lol it would not surprised me if Apple's panel will use the best hardware while Samsungs own fold would use second best. Even when they are the manufacturer. S25Ultra are also using last years Display instead of latest, so where are the ULTRA in hardware in Samsung fones..... always using hardware parts from the bin of old tech 🤣.
They are cheapskate as always recycling old hardware techs such as Display panels, old lithium Battery tech instead of new Silicon, old camera hardware sensors. So only iterartive hardware upgrades yr after yr. even when they are charging Full premium pricing. They will only update when the Chinese fone makers are kicking their complacent A#s. So people should not buy it until they do. Same with the terrible skinny Aspect ratio of their previous gen Folds up to Fold6, where most hated it as it was not practicle and only when the Chinese fones and fixels fold have wider aspect ratio and killing their sales would they change it lol.
what good is having a even if it the thinnest fone but a tiny 4400Mah battery that would not last a full day for moderate to heavy users, go figure 🤣🤣
Just look at the tiny Old battery Tech of 44400m from 5 years ago, they are still using it for their upcoming Z fold 7 same as Fold 2, when all other Foldable manufacturer in the world has at least min 5000-6000Mah or more in 2025 moved on to Silicon.

If Samsung has a better crease-less flex display and they decide to give it to Apple before they use it, I'm okay with that. Regardless, the Z7's crease will be greatly improved.

We're approaching 6 years since the 1st Foldable and sales are nowhere near projections. Foldables need a lifeline. The Z7 adapting what Chinese foldables have been doing for years will help, but it's clear the current players can't push foldables mainstream.

I just came from the dermatologist. I was using my Z. The receptionist said "is that a phone or a tablet?" It took me back a bit, but it reminded me most people are still not familiar with foldables. The ifold's significance isn't about sales. It's about raising the profile of foldables in general. That awareness will benefit everyone from the Z to the Phantom.

Vlad, what are you talking about and what are you trying to imply? What do symmetrical bezels have to do with the display panel?
And of course Samsung will use its own technology, most probably first, and might allow Apple to use it, too.Sometimes it is better just to report and not to conclude something that does not make any sense!

considering the ifoldable is going to be 2.5k, yeah, it better not have an 8bit run of the mill panel.

We are at the point that Apple of all people isn't the most "We will give you nothing, charge you everything and you will be happy" company

You'd think being two different business units but under the same umbrella would let you get the cutting edge product at a reasonable price, but Samsung keeps giving their best to Apple first and then introduces it in their devices after 2-3 years...

The current displays of the S25 and the Iphone 16 also reflect this iirc
