1000 external devices? It must at least 500.000. Linux is also far superior for years. App and driver support is a big issue. It won't have any native mainstream apps for sure so, it will run emulations everywhere with a poor performance. Good luck with incompatibility errors. It will do nothing more than pleasing some chinese officials as long as they use selected chinese apps.

Nameless, 17 hours agoGreat. Comunism needs capable OS to absorb all the data gat... moreChina’s not even really communist anymore. They’re more of a state-planned capitalist economy. In China, wealth isn’t evenly distributed, and they have a lot of income inequality. As for the spying thing, HarmonyOS is definitely spying on you, but so are western operating systems, especially Windows. And I’m American, but I honestly trust the CCP more with my data than Zuckerberg or Nadella

Great. Comunism needs capable OS to absorb all the data gathered from all the all spying devices sold and used in the world.

Even if it looks like macOS, it looks pretty good. I'm glad Huawei is dropping Windows and doing their own work. They really built their whole ecosystem and materials within China.
All they really need to do now is start working on x86/ARM chips from SMIC powerful enough to run HarmonyOS PC so they can drop Intel and AMD.

All very well, more variety is better for users. But Huawei, for God's sake, break away from Apple's user interfaces... This is Chinese Mac OS! Do something original and unique.

Whatever you may think of Huawei (and I personally do think highly of them for their high-end stuff, even if it isn't perfect by any means), this is a phenomenal achievement. Building an operating system from scratch and getting it to work with so many different system configurations is extremely difficult, so this is some amazing stuff from them.

Huawei has been relentlessly creating things that other brands have found nearly impossible to do before.. from foldables to this.
