Sony's new flagship headphones are here and the folding mechanism is back.

So the same like soundcore Q serier or one space pro but Soundcore probably has better battery life like 55-60h with charge and 5h with 5min of charging. For half the money that Sony cost... Don't get me wrong I like sony and I have a lot of sony products but I like to get the same or even better and oay less...

While there are news about all the brands in here that make them in-ear headphones without any discrimination. While these full cup headphones we see only Sony in here. And i dont care that they sell the most. Well it's hard to believe when one pair is like 500 euro and they sell a lot of them.

At these prices headphones i expect these last for 100 years for me. Well i have cheap 80 euro Kingston Cloud 2 wired i use at home. When i am out i use in-ear some cheap wired headphones that i have used for over 10 years. BT headphones i have 2 pairs as one with on ear that are small but decent sound quality and were like 40 euro and then over ear some cheaper that be e-wast fast cause dont even have AUX and also sound quality not good as not loud at all as when used need to have volume to max while with kingstone cloud 2 i have the volume at around 25%

Sony peaked with XM4s. I will die on this hill.

Regarding Technics, I notice that there is a superb new in-ear (EAH-AZ100), and we are waiting for Sony WF-1000XM6. Technics (Panasonic's high-end penchant for hi-fi) seem to have abandoned headband headphones since in Japan the EAH-A800 and EAH-T700 are no longer in the catalog!

Feels like the site is sponsored with the Sony headphones or something as these get so much attention in here.

As we dont see other brands headphones news in here pretty much ever. Never mind that it's weird to have news for specific brands other products then the point of the site as mobile phone news.

kaga, 16 hours agoAre XM4 really that obsolete comparing to XM6? Probably nee... moreJust reading that and wondering if the world's gone completely mad... Hi-Fi probably peaked already in the '80s, perhaps we got a few new materials for driver design and so but other than that... 🤷‍♂️

The only (for me) logical upgrade is e.g. 10 > 50 > 250 > 1000 € headphones. If someone wants to have multiple ones, sure, but "upgrading" after a year or two in the same price class... Crazy. Insane waste of money.
I recently bought a new pair of headphones and expect them to, just like all my old ones or my already 10 year old floorstanders, last a few decades. 😃

Now, we are talking Bluetooth headphones here and they (i.e. their battery) will certainly die in only a few years so that only comes under consideration if the BT part is an add-on like with Shure's or FiiO's TWS adapter.

If the next year's Xperia 1 surprisingly goes back to being a phone I'd buy, perhaps I get these for free, then I'll write if the difference to XM3 is worth any money. 😃

I prefer in-ear headphones. I wonder if the WF-1000XM6 will be released at the end of July like 2 years ago? A real competition with the Technics EAH-AZ100!

"Cinema mode is supposed to be used for video content and simulates a movie theater environment." So you hear loud whispers, coughing, and bursts of laughter all around you, and popcorn randomly flies at you. 😅🍿

kaga, 16 hours agoAre XM4 really that obsolete comparing to XM6? Probably nee... moreif the battery health is similar then not at all, these are all only quality of life upgrades and if the price difference between the XM6 and the XM4 is massive then the XM4 is the logical choice.

Ig that's just me but a few small changes dont really justify 100+ dollars for a product to me, if the difference is THAT big in your country that is. These are still good headphones with good compatibility and customization so yeah there's that.

It's just that wireless stuff is usually battery based and no matter how properly kept something is, that product's battery WILL degrade over time.

yeah the pricing is a bit prohibitive. is it because of tariff problems? I cant expect to pay full price for this honestly.

Are XM4 really that obsolete comparing to XM6? Probably need to see the price in my region to make a decision.
