If it's negative, you applaud the writer. Nothing new. You've been heard. Your tears 😭 have been felt, so wet and I bet they're hella salty, too! 😁

That camera hump almost breaks the purpose of thin smartphones.

had charged the phone at 4 p.m. and I plugged it in to charge at 2 p.m. the next day, using it during that time. But we won't tell the real SoT, right? I just "used it to call a taxi and upload 2 photos to Instagram:.
This is just another "marketing for fools".
Anyway, I wish you to buy not one, but two. They are so "thin and light" that you can carry both in your pocket at the same time.

Maybe refresh your sources before spreading false information.
Samsung cramming that power into this thin frame without throttling is actually impressive.
More choices, remember? It's a good thing for consumers, this Edge is still a first-gen expensive device, the next one will improve, like any first-generation device, especially in this new flagship class.

And with that, I'm done arguing with the misinformed.

DarlingYext, 3 hours ago"It has a fully fledged 8 Elite.." It doesn... moreAccording to the official Samsung website, the S25 Edge has:

            "Processor
            CPU Speed
            4.47GHz, 3.5GHz

            CPU Type
            Octa-Core"

It means it is the complete 8-core Snapdragon X Elite.

And Dave2D's Geekbench benchmark results correlate with the 8-core performance :
            Snapdragon 8 Elite / 12 GB RAM
            Geekbench Run #1 - 9547
            Geekbench Run #4 - 9322
            Geekbench Run #8 - 9279

I'm done wasting time on those who spread misinformation and can't grasp the concept of more choices for consumers.
This first-gen Edge might not be perfect, but like any first-gen device, the next ones should definitely improve, paving the way for lighter, more comfortable big-screen phones alternative.

DarlingYext, 3 hours ago"It has a fully fledged 8 Elite.." It doesn... moreBoy, you're so funny. There are MANY bigger, thicker phones with significantly more battery capacity. Just one slim and thin phone for those who would prefer that has gotten you so rattled. 😁

Go and buy what you want and stop moaning. Nobody is telling you to get this phone or any phone that would be like it.

Coming from someone who had concerns about slim phones, I'm not really surprised. https://www.cnet.com/tech/mobile/my-first-day-with-the-galaxy-s25-edge-battery-life-be-damned-im-in-love/

How many people stayed away from foldable phones BECAUSE of their battery backup? People that liked what Pixel 8 offered bought it despite its battery endurance right; S5 Edge wouldn't fare worse. https://www.pcmag.com/opinions/samsung-galaxy-s25-edge-why-a-smaller-battery-isnt-a-big-deal

If a phone isn't for you, keep committing so much energy crying about it. You'd be okay—maybe not.

Its processor has one less core. So it's not quite the full-fledged 8 Elite used in the rest of the 25 series of Samsung. Didn't your colleagues at Samsung tell you? Sorry for spoiling your "surprise".
You say the phone is not an ultra brick, but an ultra 1mm thinner brick. In that case, I even think that 1300 euros is a too little. 2300 euros sounds better for that miracle unseen.

ProMaxUltraAreBricks, 3 hours ago"Because for this money it should have a bigger batter... more"It has a fully fledged 8 Elite.."

                    It doesn't, it's the 7 core variant.

"..big screen without a heavy brick. It's a niche, sure, just like those bulky, uncomfortable camera-focused "ultra" bricks that barely work outside of China."

Interesting, very interesting indeed. So why does my China only device work perfectly in Europe? Took it the UK multiple times as well and had no issues there either.

"Let people get excited about a glimpse of the future : phones that are actually comfortable to hold and forgettable. "

If the future is thin devices with tiny batteries and average cameras that are made to fool people into thinking they are the same as an Ultra* phone, then I'm glad I've a stock of older devices packed with 4500mAh-5000mAh battery and great cameras. Plus I don't see why I would want to forget about my phone, if I spend a lot of money on one I'd rather be sure it's with me and I didn't lose it somewhere. Maybe that's just me.

*Samsung didn't want to talk about what sensor they've used in the Edge, obviously to make it seem like well of course it's 200MP so it must be the same that Ultra has, well no, it's a much smaller (same size as the base S25 and the Plus) and completely different sensor, HP5 in the Edge and HP2 in the Ultra.

Cyberchum, 3 hours agoYou don't know what "because" means now?. On... morePerfectly understand what "because" means, the Edge being overpriced isn't the main reason why it's garbage, but I already said that in multiple other conments, either you can't read or couldn't understand them.

It has a fully fledged 8 Elite, no throttling and no need for fast charging at this battery capacity. If you want better cameras, the S25 Ultra exists for a reason.

Yeah, as I already said, the battery should have been bigger (with silicon-carbon), but it is on pat with the iPhone 16 battery life. This Edge is only the first generation to fill a gap : big screen without a heavy brick. It's a niche, sure, just like those bulky, uncomfortable camera-focused "ultra" bricks that barely work outside of China. At least the Edge is a completely finished product.

Let people get excited about a glimpse of the future : phones that are actually comfortable to hold and forgettable. This is where we should have been years ago, and it's only getting better.

Sure, but midrangers aren't and shouldn't be better devices than flagships, but most mid devices are better than this Edge "flagship".

"You liked the comment that called the Edge garbage, because it's overpriced. Since you agree that Xperia 1 VII is overpriced, then it's garbage. "

Of course, I liked said comment, the S25 Edge is garbage and it's overpriced as well, the Xperia 1 VII is just overpriced, one wouldn't be better if it was cheaper, the other one would be. It's that simple.

Cyberchum, 4 hours agoOnly one blind is you. If we're to go by price:value r... moreNo, you're a blind fan because you say you're "not rich", but you have no problem defending a phone that will sell for 300 euros more than it should and that makes you happy, just because it's Samsung. If you "had eyes" you would think first of yourself and your wallet, but instead you're throwing yourself in front of a train to defend something that was obviously hastily launched on the market with an unrealistically high price, just because the competition is doing the same stupid thing right now.

No problem, it's your money, burn it. You clearly don't understand what I'm telling you. It doesn't matter if a person buys a midrange, flagship or any other type of phone. If a person has a brain, they should get what gives them the most value for their money. And not just buy the name of the phone. But even if you're a fan of a brand like you and it's Samsung, the Edge is still a no-brainer for the money, as the 25, 25+ and 25 Ultra are available for the same or less money.

And what exactly is easy to maneuver on a 6.6-inch display? 🤣

DarlingYext, 4 hours ago"It'd make sense to me when I get it for ~$400 2 ... moreS23+ came out in January 2023. Last November, I helped my elder brother purchase one in GREAT condition for $450, and that's one with dual SIM and 512GB. So, S25 Edge would be around $400 two years from now. I've been buying older Samsung flagships for long to know how much they usually cost down the line.

Only an immature fellow would care so much how correctly their username was spelt. Aren't you so matured? Wow!

If we're to go by price:value ratio, most midrangers are better than flagships, no? Maybe people shouldn't buy those flagships, then, so they wouldn't be blind, by your definition. Silly!

I'm not rich, but at least, unlike you, I don't have a poor mindset (mental blindness). Someone that has been asking and wishing for a lighter and easier to maneuver phone with big display would get this if they don't mind the battery compromise (which they most likely expected that a phone with less footprint and heft would have) regardless of what you think. If you call them blind, you need a mirror to see who's really "blind".

Sounds like a great long-term investment if you think this $1100 phone will cost $400 in just 2 years, and it totally sounds like you think it's a great phone if you are already planning to buy it for that much. Altough I kind of agree about that price, that's about how much it actually worths right now.

"And I don't give a hoot about spelling your name correctly. Lol"

Otherwise, you are right to compare the Edge with a midrange. Even a brand new one is 1 idea better than any midrange. Except that it costs as much as 2 midranges, but apparently you blind fans don't care about that.
