Samsung announced a carbon nanocomposite that controlled silicon swelling called SCN. On Battery Day Tesla announced the future adoption of tabless batteries that would increase power and range called the 4680. No details were given, but these are likely their silicon anode batteries known as the NC30 and NC50. The priorities from both companies were EV's. Samsung started manufacturing batteries with their SCN technology in March. Tesla is due to release their silicon anode batteries next year. That's a similar time table.

What Samsung is doing is what an electronics company with a battery division does. Samsung is not only competing against Honor, Huawei, Apple and other mobile companies. They are also competing against BYD and CATL. Their priorities are on a larger scale than Honor. Honor doesn't even develop their Si/C from the ground up like Samsung. They license the technology from an American company. Samsung will not be licensing from. They will be licensing to.

If that doesn't work for you and Honor is doing something that does, then buy the phone that fits your needs. Why do people complain about not having enough options and still complain when options are available?

Finally a great thin fone with nearly 6000Mah battery with new Silicon Carbon battery tech. I had been waiting 3 years for lazy Samsung; always last to update hardware on their battery capacity and they still refuse to upgrade the same tiny 4400Mah used since 5 years ago, using old Lithium battery. So instead of being a great Z fold7 it is just another flop for me to skip buying. Just so fed up with Samsung always refusing to update their old hardwares in batteries and camera, which in my opinion are far more important than any other feature in an ultra premium fone such as creases or how much thinner it could get, honestly 9mm is good enough no need for thinner just give us massive batterie or camera upgrades instead.
I hope this Magic v5 gets global release, Samsung is just so complacent that it is just ridiculous. They refused to move their A$# until fones like Honor kick their butts before they will do any major updates, like their upcoming Z Fold 7, yet it still they kept the old 5 yr old same old 4400 Mah y battery capacity. Imagine what Samsung could have achieved if they were not so stubborn and put in a same 6000Mah S.C battery, I would have bought it instead of waiting for this V5; most people will gladly sacrifice 1cm thicker for nearly 30% larger battery, it is a no brainer a best looking fone is of little use to anyone in Real world if it will not last a full day. Powering Bigger screens and same small battery but relying on SD chipset efficiency is just plain stupid and complacent.
So well done Honor, if Samsung is looking you'd better get your Sh$t together with your sh#ty battery capacity.

Mrrad ALL THE warranty fine print!!! In FULL

See just how readily the cop out of expected warranty shows up and how often!

The biggest failing points in a foldable is always

          #1 inner screen
#2 the inner screen protective film = which to date Only Samsung offers a free replacement as part of warranty irregardless of the reason why!! This is FACT! NO extra warranty payment by the customer no country or regional exceptions!

          3. The hinge!
Fuck how many patents made or shown off of strength remember they're ONLY showing you a SPECIFIC area where strength will shine any other applied pressure that deveats from wha5 8s advertised is your fools find out!

Still have a thicc camera hump tho 😂

6k capacity, 8 elite and a beautiful light frame to encase this, is amazing.

Honor will have to do more than be thin. The only foldable that outsold its predecessor was the Z6 and that might not have been the case if Samsung didn't start offering direct discounts for the 1st time on the Z Fold. The V3 was thinner and Honor offered discounts from the start, but it still didn't outsell the V2. The Mate X6 was introduced late. It still has time to rebound. It also looks like the absence of the Oppo Find N gave Huawei momentum. A bulk of Huawei's 2 million in December was the Mate X5.

Honor made a splash with the V2, but thin isn't really a selling point as much as these manufacturers would like. Honor needs another marketing ploy. The 6000mah battery might help, but Huawei is completely dominating book fold sales in China.

Both Apple and Samsung are releasing very thin models of non-foldable phones. And they are specifically showcasing the thinness. But thin needs to be relegated to foldables because that's where it matters most. Nobody is asking or wanting a normal smartphone that is 5.8mm thin. Especially one with a camera bump making it closer to 11mm thin. But people constantly talk about foldables being 'too thick'.

Hope the magic V5 will have a camera setup better than the Find N5's camera setup
