Still, it's often not enough compared to the EU, which truly regulates these large tech companies regarding consumer rights and privacy.

Meanwhile, China's does nothing for consumers rights, the situation there is actually worse.

The amount of group chats that you would be excluded from would be detrimental. The large majority of Android users in the US are Obamaphones for old ppl and burner phones for the YN's.

Those that do not comply with local laws do not operate in China. It's really that simple. Huawei complies with US laws but still do not get to operate in the US. So much US double standards.

emm, 22 May 2025When the land of freedoom it self is in monolpoyAmerican consumerism is indeed strange. It's always gravitating towards monopolies. One big store for everything used by everybody. I guess, that just demonstrates the absolute power of unfiltered advertisement.

Listen, this is like Occam's Razor, the simplest answer is the best. USA dont like China so they banned Huawei.

The reason behind em not banning the others is obvious yet you either dont understand or act like you dont, you're either not that bright or you're malicious. Not gonna argue further with your type.

When the land of freedoom it self is in monolpoy

[deleted post]Now they are innocent victimm!!!! :(

So, what does China actually do for consumer rights?
                    ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Meanwhile, even in the US, giants like Amazon and Apple recently faced significant legal costs from consumer lawsuits.
But it is mainly the EU that truly regulates these big tech companies for consumer rights and privacy, something that exists only outside of China.

If you know how much Americans use iMessage instead of WhatsApp, you can see why people won't buy Android phones no matter how good they are in the U.S. Younger generations in particular won't even consider anything other than the iPhone.

jiyen235, 22 May 2025this is why Huawei was banned and this is why Samsung w... moreSo now, Huawei is the innocent victim here.

When it comes to actual consumer rights, what does China really do regarding Huawei and other tech giants?
                        ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!
In fact, for everyday people there, the situation is often considered much worse, for reasons that are pretty well understood.

It's mainly the EU that actually lands huge wins for consumers, actively trying to regulate all the giant tech companies, whether they're Chinese outfits like Huawei or the American GAFAM.

Even the U.S. applies pressure to its own "precious" GAFAM, we've seen recently companies like Amazon and Apple face significant legal costs from consumer lawsuits.

It might not always be enough, sure, but it's still a very different approach compared to China's track record.

you may not like apple but apple's long-term support forced other companies to do the same even for their mid-range lineup.

jiyen235, 22 May 2025this is why Huawei was banned and this is why Samsung w... moreOh yes, China is the innocent victim here, with absolutely no systematic intellectual property theft, no active support for authoritarien regimes, and definitely no mass surveillance used to control populations and represss minnorities in China.
                              Suuuuuuure.

It's mainly the EU that actually lands huge wins for consumers and trying to control giant tech companies, whether they're Chinese outfits like Huawei or American tech GAFAM.

The US also apply sanctions even at its "precious" GAFAM, we've seen Amazon and Apple face hefty legal fees from consumer lawsuits. Still it's not enough.

In the meantime, what does China actually do for consumer rights?
                              ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Yet, the only "sanctions" or pressure China ever seems to apply to foreign tech giants like GAFAM is when those companies aren't compliant enough with China demands for mass spyying or censorrship.
Just look at Apple reportedly needing local partners like Alibaba and Baidu to make its new AI features fit China's government regulations and censsorship rules.
That tells you everything about their priorities.

Citing "stealing" allegations is the usual western noise when in fact Snowden's leak showed they were banned because as their telecommunication footprint expanded throughout the world their equipment was being used more in other countries and since Huawei won't spy for the US and it's intelligence partners, the US risked losing backdoor access to critical telecommunication infrastructures.

Huawei was mainly banned in countries that were spy partners for the US.
