Bennis, 23 May 2025Crazy that I was considering one before all sellers told me... moreMy mothers screen on her z flip 5 went out after 1.5 years just a green box in the fold center and my friends z flip 6 screen just randomly died after 5 months. So I mean I know two different people with the screens giving out and they are no less than 400 to fix. Math isn't matching the worth.

Anonymous, 23 May 2025Calls can be answered with the phone folded. Can't get... morecalls can be answered on the cover screen as handsfree. but I expect to open and answer the calls with an easy action when I have only one free hand. I tested flip 4, 5 and 6. flip6 hinge opens easiest but, still not as easy as I expect. I can manage to open flip 6 in 5-10 seconds with one hand.

Bennis, 23 May 2025They just aren't reliable long term, Better off to ... moreexactly. I always buy flagships and use them for 4-5 years. I also protect my phones by quality cases and screen protectors, so they look like brand new after many years. however, folding action wear-off is something you cannot avoid by any kind of protection. I just love the idea of carrying a small footprint in my pocket all day and use a big screen only when I need it. I believe they can hold up to my expectations when my next upgrade comes after 2027.

Anonymous, 24 May 2025The only made up story here is, "Seller told me" ... moreIf you'd give $2000 for a novelty phone I bet you'd also want it to last more than a $1000 basic one.
Am I wrong?
*just a little misunderstanding, by broken screen I meant the protective film not the screen itself

Bennis, 23 May 2025Crazy that I was considering one before all sellers told me... moreThe only made up story here is, "Seller told me" story. Rest all are facts that can be checked online, not hearsay. No one with a broken fold 6, flip 6 screen posted yet. Just people who change phone after 4 years. Yet want foldable perfect for 7 years.

Bennis, 23 May 2025Crazy that I was considering one before all sellers told me... morePeople reporting screen issues for latest foldables on online portals like amazon, is less than 20%. For any other slab phone its 12%. Not that much of a difference. Considering most new users dont know, phone should be unfolded when not being carried.

Bennis, 23 May 2025I've been using a $500 phone for 4 years. (A52s) So... moreThese foldables are not $500 phones. You are trolling about phone which you are never going to buy. Even if it lasts 40 years. Grapes are sour, we get it.

Anonymous, 23 May 2025For how long have you been using your current $700 phone ? ... moreI've been using a $500 phone for 4 years. (A52s)
So, considering a midrange has lasted me 4 years (with proper care, of course), I expect a >$1000 phone to last AT LEAST 5 years if not more.
And since we're getting OS and security updates for 7 years now, I expect even longer usage of flagships.

Keep phone unfolded when not carrying around, you will never have any protector problem. Using foldable for almost a year now, without issues. Current gen foldables are durable and hassle free. Trolls will keep trolling

Better off to go with a normal S series phone that'll easily last you 4-5 years than a fold that'll last you 1-2 or 3 at best before the screen gets too fkd to use.
I'd say to get an S series while they still have Snapdragon chips globally, and in the years that it's gonna last you, you'll get to see advancements in folding phones that may just make them worth to get in the long run.
And, well, if you don't have a problem with switching phones every 1-2 years than go for a folding one...

So I'm looking fwd to upgrading from the fold 3 to the to the 7 and i do hope they worked out the kinks with the middle screen protector bubbling up as well as when the strip on the edge is removed the phone begins not to open all the way flat anymore. Kinda of nerving for the price you pay. Love my Z Folds..

Any one who is buying these phones for serious usage and are not hobbyists should reconsider. No brand has improved the screen durability. You'll waste your time and money if it is damaged and brand refuses warranty.

I see a galaxy flip twice a month and almost half of those flip phones have visible issues with the display protector. they peel off on the hinge area most of the time. that doesn't make the phone useless but such a premium phone should not look like this for sure. I really like flip phones. I was about to buy a flip5 during my upgrade back in 2023 but, I still have concerns of the longevity of these devices. plus, it is still not easy to answer a call one handed.
