HMD Skyline 2, Skyline 2 GT, Rubber 1, and Rubber 1S all have their specs outed

The Rubber 1 and Rubber 1S are smartwatches running Wear OS, and the former even has a built-in camera.

Pumpino, 31 May 2025The build quality is probably good, but yes, too expensive.... moreWe see HMD do the same with releasing phone with older Android number when latest number being out like up to half a year.

How does build quality make even sense ? Like if the phone frame is not in metal then the phone falls apart or something ? Just cause of metal frame it becomes magical quality on how the phone is constructed ? Does HMD use more screws and less clue on constructing the phone where we could say that screws guarantee better construction that makes the phone stronger ?

Pumpino, 31 May 2025Unlocked? I think you mean it can't be unlocked. It can be unlocked.

hope they have a headphone jack on the skyline GT.

would be very appreciated by the target audience the skyline is targeting anyways.

Cameras on the Skyline 2 seem identical to the current one. More manufacturers are using the same sensors each year and expecting consumers to not notice.

My biggest concern is that none of the rumours by smashx_60 ends up becoming true.

Not keeping a headphone jack on the Skyline would have been because of their Amped Buds, but that again would be a silly reason trying to force people to buy their TWS earphones while not allowing them to use wired ones.

If they’re releasing two phones this year, I hope one of them is what I described earlier. Else, they’ll be generic slabs like every other brand.

However, due to buyers' limited purchasing power, they are quite reluctant to develop such niche one.

Hope they add a headphone jack (and keep the sd card slot) and make the phones a bit smaller. Three OS updates are obviously welcome. A slightly newer processor would also help with the longevity.

It would have been better to use a cheaper MediaTek chip like the efficient Dimensity 7300 and lowered the price accordingly, at least for the non GT variant.

The original model provided two major updates and three years of security patches; I don't see a cheap Chinese phone offering more updates than that. Xiaomi in particular often releases midrangers with an old version of Android to chest people out of an update.

In case that doesn’t make sense, it is just going to be overpriced for what it’s offering.

I expect at least 550 euro cause both 7s and 7 gen 3 are decent chips in around 800k Antutu score.
As we have seen so far the HMD phone prices then thats is where they should land with their prices on this. But the specs are for phones that should cost under 300 euro

Even with stock android it's too expensive and only get like 2 OS updates if even that so best be still to go with something Chinese brands and especially in the markets these are aimed at

All hinges on the price as always. Could be a nothing phone 3a challenger if priced right. Based on the screen size it will be a big phone. Hope they didn't go with a glass back. The pixel 9a has a plastic rear and last year's skyline was fine with a plastic rear. The chipset on the GT being a SD 7 Gen 3. Is that really better than the 7s Gen 3 with more modern cores?
