Anonymous, 02 Jun 2025A lot of things EU does is a big win for the consumers.
... moreIt's nearly impossible for any government to go against Microsoft. The moment they "won" that anti trust lawsuit in early 2000s, they became invincible. Now they don't want to be the first in one or two sector but a close second in every sector they are in.
Even in AI, they are not the one leading in the actual AI product but they host almost all major AIs with their data on their Azure servers.

Translation into English: "Stifles free money hoarding"
Facebook can "take" whatever data the user who installs the app agrees to. We don't need Apple to hold our hands on everything. If Facebook takes data they haven't gotten consent for, they get an even bigger fine, or other criminal indictments. You know, the way everything works.

Time to bust open the world's smallest violin for the fruit company soon.
I just hope the EU gets serious about the wanton data thievery and starts fining BOTH Apple and Meta percentage based numbers.

Apple needs to be forced to pay at least 10% of their annual revenue. Any risk that high would force them to not constantly do such things.

""The company says it's having difficulties discussing the matter with the EU, and the EU isn't responding to the feedback.""
Ooh really ? Like Apple answers on any feedback or any question or what ever issue.
The only way to get any info from Apple is to fine them as then they will maybe do it. So if you dont do it then dont complain on others that they dont do it

A lot of things EU does is a big win for the consumers.
But I worry more about the things that are not, EU their focus on Apple and Google is fine, but they mostly ignore Microsoft nowdays, which they should not.
EU does focus on the first in the row, Microsoft knows that from the past and uses that tactic nowdays.

"Apple points to Meta as the company that requested the most information from Apple"
Apple and Meta blaming each other over consumer data 🤣
I hope they will both pay even more, another average EU win for consumers !
