It's still an air cooled system - but the thermal compound used between the processor and the heatsink is liquid metal (instead of traditional thermal paste)

ngl that lowest loop score of 5500 is pretty nuts
Usually other phones with SD 8 elite/D9400 score 3000-4000 in their lowest loop. That's like a generational gap in performance.

jiyen235, 07 Jun 2025bro you're high, go take a look at the ROG Phone'... moreagain, just like in the gt 7 article, youre comparing about half a years worth of software updates. i sure hope qc got better scores 7 months after they launched a device than the other way around. please note the cpu graphs on the rog phone, and how it keeps, throughout the test, about 50% higher cpu throughput. theres no magic there, because its not a benchmark "score". its a raw MIPS test.
an external, peltier cooler would go great lengths to keeping the actual device cool. if i had to wager, significantly cooler than what RM achieves with a fan.

A boiling hot phone is not fun to play with compared to a somewhat warm phone. It helps very little for the chip but it does seem to indirectly help with at least spreading the heat out or reducing the whole phones heat

Tho you're right, the Redmagic's fan seems somewhat useless but keep in mind the most important thing is keeping the phone itself cool so you have a comfy gaming session, the fan redirects heat directly from one side whereas if it is left to passive cooling the heat will spread throughout the whole phone. Thus the phone would feel a lot cooler with the fan and you're gonna have a more comfortable session.

so, the fan is downright pointless, buy a peltier cell instead, as that would have an actually measurable impact on performance. they cheat on their touch sampling, as per geekerwan tests. whats the point of this phone again? the air triggers?

"does not bring enough benefit to justify the extra cost", are you guys blind? or am i blind?. Honestly curious, cus from what I've seen from all elite phones, the 10 series is the only phone that gives you those scores in 3dmark with such a stability level, even the rog 9 you guys reviewed is horrendous in stability at the same peak score stress test.
