You can always pay more for more worthless e-waste because you want to protect your beloved brand's ecosystem. Real smart techies know what is always relevant and never outdated. Cope harder, the audio jack never dies and it never will. If anything, the wireless fad will be forgotten in the future.

    P.S. Remember the time Sony dropped the audio jack from their 2018 and 2019 flagship phones? Sony could have continued doing the same thing today, especially since they also make wireless earbuds. But alas, common sense always wins the day.

        In normal smartphones, the extra internal space is used to had 3 cameras, more battery capacity etc...
        All of that is worth more than the jack

I am just trying to get myself to say that there well and truly is no space for a 3.5 mm jack anymore. I have no problem behing glued to my phone I have a laptop and PC XD.

          The rapid aging and poor lowlight and contrast performance of the screen is not a waranty case according to them and it wouldn't help me anyways as the latest theories is that this issue only occures when the (any) os is loaded it is not present in the recovery making this at least in part a software issue. Fairphone could be more transparent there anyways.

          Why not send it back because I was in the juxtaposition of having all these issues with my device but the device until recently behing the one and in fact the only one that partially matches my wants and needs in a phone.

          If this goes like it always does I would say the fp6 doesnt have the screen issue anymore but I still can't buy the frame and that the slp 8.1 will have proprietary camera software like the fp5/6 leaving we with no clear choice.

I have to be proud of that. Or, this is more like your specs, Specs, SPECS but have no idea how to make a call, mentality stops you from thinking beyond specs and cheap, while lacking values or principles 😉. Hmm, i think i found the culpit. Talking about fanboyism in comment sections of devices that are not in your interest while plain bashing them, because of being different from your chinaware, i have to ask: who or what do you think you are? I have my own cloud at home, what about that? Ever tought about it? Also people can just copy paste everything on their pc via smb or usb, there are like a tone of possibilities to backup a device or move files around on android, SFTP, SMB, cable, nearby share, you name it. But lets say that you are one of those that needs 4 TB on their phones, well then, buy a notebook with sim support.

I mean, you obviously do, but who else besides 4 people on GSMarena? I literally know nobody that uses wired headphones, be it on their portable devices or even home-office headsets, everybody, literally EVERYBODY uses wireles headsets for work, be it customers or collegues, and some kind of earbuds for their phones. Or use none of them, cause they do not listen to music or whatever other stuff. I haven't seen wired headphones for years now.

                            There is no chinese phone be it 100 or 1000$ that has this specs.
                            - no chinese device is manufactured as fair as fairphone, not even remotly close to it.
                            - no chinese device is modular, repairable and battery or screen can easily be found bought and replaced when necessery.
                            - no chinese device has this level of software support, nor official support for installation of other android based OS, like murena and so on, as fairphone.
                            - no chinese device is designed in europe
                            - no chinese device has clean android.

                            So, as you can see, you cannot buy a chinese device with this specs at 250$😉.

It might still sound b.s for you and maybe it is. But assuming that you think the same as the others complaing about the 3.5jack i have to ask why would any company assume that you as a customer will buy their bluetooth headphones and not from other companies? Especially in Android world? It might work for apple, as they are proprietary and as a.holes as it gets, killing functionality or quality for other headhones, literally forcing the user to buy apple ones again and again. But a company like Fairphone, that uses android and nothing proprietary besides their phone designs, i see this to be a dumb and risky reason to assume people will buy your headphones, especially as a market profiling one has to remove the the people that already have headphones bought from the buying list, then to remove the ones that use usb c headphones from it, then to remove the ones that would go for cheapper offerings from it, and then selling headphones to a quite small crowd. It is not like they have millions of customers... is a far fetch to even think this is a good idea. They most likely embranced the idea because of ip rating and the fact that it is easier to not develope around a 3.5 jack, and cheapper too. My two cents about their marketing strategy.

                                      2 USB C makes no sense, if ones goes bad, you can just replace it, for audio and charging purposese, then they might just put the 3.5jack back.
                                      As for issues, again, if in warranty why not just give it back, or buy another screen? Just saying, there are posibilities. I do not claim that they are the best company ever, but at least they try to do something. Nice to hear that you have tried, i wanted to go for shift 8 too, but it takes to much time for me to buy one, and i would also like to see a trusted review with pros and cons about it before buying, sadly none till date.

                                        mae.emery, 09 Jun 2025Found the fairphone employee.Yeah, i have heard this also in Nokia, hmd, sony, nothing comments sections, and sometimes, out of whatever wierd reason, in apple sections too. I assume people can't use to much of their grey matter so they go robot mode and copy paste whatever they see fit without actually evaluating what they say. And then, there are this "humans" like mk408 or whatever he/she/it nick-name is that keep the ignorance spirit alive and high. I mean, why would people even bother thinking?
