Carol-, 09 Jun 2025The only greenwashing here is you. They, like other compani... moreHopefully they changed the design so the outer frame can be swapped let alone bought as a replacement part.
Fixing the oled issue would also be nice.
Kicking out the proprietary nonsense that makes the camera horrible on anything but E/OS and stock is a must. People say you dont need 50 MP mode but i have to hard disagree. If i zoom in on some text because I dont want to get the ladder I am almost better off using my old trash company iphone than the modern expensive fp5 just because I use los.
Something crazy that would work for me is to give me two usbc ports. Yes nothing beats something like a h990ds 4x DAC and a 3,5mm and while aux itself isn't big waterproofing is makes it that. Two waterproof usbcs are smaller there are HQ audio adapters and having two of them would enable me to still charge my phone when one wears out. Or ignore the inefficencys and give me wireless charging like the sp8. I don't want the wear and tear of charging and listening to music on one port.
I will actually change my delivery option for my shift phone 8 512gb to hold of until I get at least a spec sheet for the fp6.
This still does not change that they charge people to solve a common softbrick that can be fixed by literally one command. And they did not care about my or other peoples oLED issues so this really needs to be something super for me to return.

CHN phones also too cheap that it's cheaper to just resell it and then add a few more to buy a new one.

All I want this to be is somewhat equivalent to my Sony 5 V. If it can just have a solid chipset & be a competent device id make the switch instantly.
A modular phone is super appealing, especially with long term support.

Maybe not this time around, but they will eventually, if they feel like they can get away with it. That's how every company works: if it can get away with carving out features from a product to resell them separately, it will 100% do it.

Smallworld, 09 Jun 2025No one wants headphone jacks anymore. You need to kiss it g... moreOh, please! Don't speak as if you represent everyone. We don't need more and more worthless e-waste in the shape of wireless earbuds. Also, you can throw in any earbuds you like and it still won't beat the audio quality of wired audio, especially if you have built-in Quad DAC like LG's V-series phone.

I'm definitely curious about the SoC this new model will have. Hopefully Fairphone can adopt a flagship-tier SoC like the QCM8550 (which is essentially the enterprise IoT version of Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile SoC).

People like you are only 0.001% of the market. It's not worth sacrificing the internal space for that.

No telephoto, no buy.
Also they should be offering 2 sizes, 6.3" and 6.7". There's no such thing as one size fits all. They need to make sure not to use a weird chipset again and they seriously need to improve the battery life, camera quality AND software support.
The Fairphone forums are full of people who are mad about the bad software support. Long support is nice but if the update are buggy and few and far between then that's useless.
