Style over substance, 10 Jun 2025Thinnest and lightest.....yeah right, until your battery go... morePrior to Z6 release, there was a growing mindset on the Z reddit forum no one should buy the Z6 to punish Samsung for minimal yearly changes. It may have worked because sales started slow. Then, two things happened: 1) people changed their minds after seeing the Z6 in person and 2) Samsung started offering direct discounts, which was a first.

By December of 2024 the Z6 Fold outsold the Z5 Fold by 900 million+ units. As of now, it has probably increased to 1-1.5 million. The Z Fold forum consists of people that actually buy this phone and others that are considering it. That's why it may have influenced early Z6 sales. GSM forum does not. That's why no survey here will reflect nor influence reality. Other than the reality most of the main voices here don't like Samsung.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2025I'm not saying that the S/C batteries aren't good... moreTo prove something, OnePlus DID NOT USE silicon carbon battery technology in OnePlus 13s and yet IT HAS 5800mah battery. Meanwhile Samsung struggled with only 4000mah in their S25. Even Google manage to put 4700mah and 5100mah in their Pixel 9/9 Pro and 9a respectively.

You can see yourself how lagged behind Samsung is in battery tech. This website didn't have OnePlus 13s but its size should be similar to Oppo Find X8s.

Thinnest and lightest.....yeah right, until your battery gone flat in the afternoon with the same 4400Mah from 5 Years ago....then you have to carry a Powerbank min 100Grams extra and becomes the THICKEST AND HEAVIEST MF Foldable yet 🤣
GSMArena please Do a survey and see how many people will prefer thinness/ slightly lighter over increased battery size. As long as it is under 10cm, I would bet over 90% of Real potential buyers users would choose Battery size over how stupidly thin it is just for the bragging rights.
No need to look further than the S25 Edge proof sales, a total failure due to its tiny battery powering a large screen and now they are doing it again, increasing the size of the ZF7 to 7.2" & expect more battery life relying on Qualcomm efficiency only year after year.
Samsung is destined for more failure in 2026 with their main seller S26Ultra unless it address the Biggest Failure of their fones refusing to change old battery tech to Si/C and have a much larger battery capacity with same dimensions and weight. They could have easily installed at least a min 5500Mah for the same dimensions and weight if they had adopted new Si/C battery but as usual they cheap out to save money, cutting corners as their hopeless Crapynos chip division continues to bleed money.
I wonder which genius at Samsung approves the process of killing the the Goose that lay golden eggs...looking at you Mr R.

Which brands? Only Samsung and Apple? Naah, that doesn't work like that. Every brand does that, but if so, then how could Honor already launch phones with Si/C batteries 2 years ago and now said battery technology is just common, yet Samsung couldn't and they still can't? They could easily, just don't want to. There is also the OnePlus 13s, a fairly small phone with a standard Lithium battery, yet it packs a 5850mAh battery, which is bigger than the battery of the much larger S25 Ultra, and they didn't even need to use the new Si/C technology.

It would be amazing if it were that thin. But it can only be that thin if it doesn't have a USB-C port. Samsung made a port-less foldable?

Some people complain that Samsung is slow when it comes to battery technology, and indeed that's the reality. FatalXE, 10 Jun 2025Both Samsung and Apple know theirs brands are more valuable... moreExactly. With every announcement people get on the comments sections to complain about what dumb moves these brands make. Like Samsung and Apple don't already have people specifically paid to research the market and see what will sell. As long as the majority of people (the ones that aren't tech nerds) will buy the new products, there is no need to constantly bring new and innovative features.

People act like these brands don't already have working prototypes of devices that will release 2-3 years in the future, they all k ow about Silicon Carbon batteries and fast charging and everything there is to know.

Until people start to do more research and be more careful with what they buy, not just go with the brand name, then we won't get anything impressive from there brands. If suddenly Vivo gets a lot of market share, for sure the other manufacturers will start to compete hardware wise more to match that
