Pathetic specs Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 + 8GB + 256GB UFS 2.2.
Performance is comparable to Kirin 990 or Snapdragon 865 released in Q4 2019 and here we are 6 years later!
I really want to see how many actually will use It past a few years.

Pumpino, 19 Jun 2025Only IP55 and a 4,415mAh battery? How is that sustainable w... moreBig batteries are possible because the internal space inside phones in very optimized and all the components are stacked on top of each other and glued in a pretty complicated way.
If you want to make some of those elements user replaceable, then you CANNOT optimize the internal space that well anymore.
And why are you complaining about the waterproofing? It's very tough to make a phone with user replaceable part that's waterproof too.
It's not like some older phones which batteries could be popped out but still had some level of waterproofing. This phone goes beyond simply replacing the battery, that's why they can't offer IP69 rating.
You seriously need to keep realistic expectations and not ask for impossible things. What you ask COULD be possible but then the phone would be tough to repair and cost much more.

Pumpino, 19 Jun 2025Only IP55 and a 4,415mAh battery? How is that sustainable w... moreYou can take out the used battery and put a charged one on the go. You can carry just one more battery and you have 8800 mAh battery in total. If you want more, instead of taking a power bank for a phone you can get couple of more batteries and you have the fastest 0 to 100 (technically you have to charge it) and you can be stress free.

Are you kidding? Why don't you first look at where is what actually made and then say It again.
Fairphone Supply Chain Fairphone 4

And I seriously doubt Fairphone 5 and 6 changed this much.
Being a non-profit organization?
Fairphone B.V. is a Privately held company.
But yeah, they are pretty transparent I must say, but after looking at that interactive map the price is simply high. My conclusion is that they have low volume, and all this "fair wages and European made" is nonsense, end of story.

This just looks like a downgrade to me. From likely a worse ultrawide camera than the Fairphone 5 that already had a smaller sensor than the Fairphone 4 to the all plastic looking build and that extra thick looking body.

Pumpino, 19 Jun 2025Only IP55 and a 4,415mAh battery? How is that sustainable w... moreAlthough I agree it's bad value, having everything easily user-replaceable, paying fair wages and being European made is an expensive effort which in consideration makes the price to me not all that crazy.
I wouldn't buy it personally but the angle is not a ploy and they are actually a non-profit organization.

looks like it has reached a completely different price class compared to before!
the battery removal procedure looks very annoying tho, why dont they make it easily removable by hand?

Look good though, the only thing that made me less interested is no 3.5mm jack and the battery size. Also, what the greenish yellow button for?? And the price, I felt is kinda a bit expensive. Probably it's just me 🤷🏻♂️

Naming: Fair
Specs: a little more than 4000mah, 33w, pricing almost like a Samsung with discount

Pretty solid phone for a small company. The chip is enough for anything you'll do on this compact phone. The battery is almost the same as Xiaomi 14 has, so pretty good for the size.

Battery needing screws to replace means the battery life better be good. The 5 was disappointing in comparison to its size. This needs to at least hit 10hr on GSMArena's battery life tests.

Only IP55 and a 4,415mAh battery? How is that sustainable when most phones are 5,700-7,000mAh now? Add to that the slow updates and ridiculous price. Why would anyone bother? Cheaper phones will last as long as the Fairphone. The sustainable angle is just a ploy to stand out in a crowded market.

Deleted nice paragraph
For all 13 phones with 7s Gen 3 so far
Samsung Xcover7 Pro just 6GB RAM
Fairphone 6 just 8GB RAM
Every other manufacturer with 12gb RAM options, are these people genuinely trying to make a sustainable product? If a young company like Nothing can do 12/256 for ~ $450. I think fairphone can do that for €550.

That looks terrible. Clunky and uncomfortable to hold, with nothing that makes it look any special.
